Drake - Find Your Love
Artist: Drake
Producer: Kanye West
Album: Thank Me Later
Label: YMCMB/Universal Motown
Here’s how it works. Drake announces he’s releasing a new track, we all stare at our computer screens like porn addicts waiting for it to arrive, and once it does we dissect it like surgeons. That was the case for Over, and it will certainly be the case for Drizzy’s latest effort, Find Your Love. Produced by Kanye West, who essentially gives Drake a 808s & Heartbreak beat to work over, plus or minus some piano and orchestration, the real story here is, of course, Drake’s vocals. That’s right, I said vocals. Find Your Love is entirely rhyme-free. Drake spends the entire track softly crooning, and the result is a song that’s sure to make hardcore hip-hop heads hurl, and teenage girls cry as they stare longingly at the Drake posters in their bedroom. (Hint: Find Your Love’s targeted more at the latter demographic than the former.) Will the Booth find love in their hearts for Aubrey’s latest effort? Will his debut album Thank Me Later (due out in June) be able to live up to the hype? We’ll find out soon.

I was a huge fan of Kanye's 808s album, and since this sounds like a direct extension of that project, so its no surprise that I like this all the same. Not to mention, vocally Drake is 10 steps ahead of Kanye as a singer.
As an artist I don't think that Drake should be boxed into singing or rapping when he clearly enjoys doing both. However, if he wants to see true long term success, I believe this is the route. Crossover success is the way to go and this does just that. |

I think this was good, I really didn't like the 808's approach to it, but it was good music to listen to. His lyricism didn't drop at all here, and he's still Drake, he's still doin his thing. Nathan said it very well.

now just wait for everyone to go crazy....and unlike many other hyped albums i believe this project will be solid from top to bottom but i do believe he took to long to get it out he would have sold more if he had put it out sooner possible a mili i believe

I liked Kanye's album as well, but this isn't exactly the same kind of production as from 808s and Heartbreaks, but it does have similarities. I'm pretty sure Drake could be quite successful on these kind of beats though and maybe if he used all the beats from Ye's album, it might have been better than the original.
This is the best we've heard Drake's voice in a while, well at least since So Far Gone. As a single, I find this to kinda be a risk. It will be successful (no pun intended) just because it's Drake, but it just doesn't seem like this would even be as big as Over. |

This track is a straight up banger!!!!
Sure some people won't like it since he doesn't rap but Drake is a triple threat with his acting, singing, and rapping and well he showcases his smooth vocals on this track!! The production by Kanye is very good as it mixes a bit of R&B with almost a technoish vibe IMO!! Overall a very good track and can't wait till Thank Me Later drops!! |

This definitely has 808s written all over it. As soon as the beat starts you can almost see Kanye. But that all takes a back seat to Drake here. This is a song powered by vocals.
This won't find the girls quite like Best I Ever Had, but this is not meant to be as fun as that track. A more serious tone but still has that "one girl" feel to it. "Find Your Love" definitely shows some depth to Drakes game. He really can do a lot with a song and this is a great example of that. So while this might not blow up like some of his other songs, its still a solid track. 3 1/2 stars. |

When this leaked a little earlier on some of the other sites, many of the comments people were leaving on there were blasting it...mostly because he didn't spit over it. This track is a 4.5 from me, but what I think would make it perfect would be a verse from the producer himself. If Kanye got on this track it would be crazy. Otherwise this is the best track I have heard from "Thank Me Later".

Heavily Kanye West influenced.
This isn't a bad thing — and it isn’t entirely unexpected, as Drake has long shown his love for Kanye West and "808's & Heartbreak" to be a core ingredient in his work — but this feels more "heard before" than anything else. Commercially, production is a double edged sword than an unending stream of benefits, in my opinion. But can you really blame Drake for wanting to grab some of that emotional baggage of 808's? Love has always been more interesting when one has something tragically personal to *ahem* sing about and with some fresh "into the psyche of a man knocked down by love, but far from out" fodder here, Drake (once again) provides more than enough pain for us to revel in. Sh!t grows on ya bad and real quick, and that’s before the song has segued into its middle section. |

This didn't stand out to me, but I'm sure it'll grow on me, much like Over did. In rotation, but probably a banger.

ahhhhhhh what ive been waiting too here all day and wow its definitly a track inspired by the 808s by kanye(were is any of the dudes musik!!!!!)
drake sounds way emotional on here and is trying something new which issnt all that brandnew since hes done some song rap tracks but not too this extent which works so well and i wouldnt complain if he takes the 808s path and releases an album too match the emotions of that aswell. he is definitly one of many people favorite artist and tracks like these are why. this is way better then i expected so i hit it up with a CLASSIC idk maybe im suffering from drake relapse(sorry EM) but its pretty dope!!! |

Its really easy to forget that Drake has a nice voice. The singing is nice. The Kanye production sounds like something from 808 that he didn't use. I am happy he didn't use it because Drake delivers Nicely. Banger Status!

This is it, the single that is really gonna set the radio on fire and get some buzz going for Thank me Later. Similar to how "Nothing on You" did for Bobby Ray, he already has his original fan base anticipating, but this will get him some crossover and mainstream attention.
I like everything but the hook, but its not bad enough to take away from the song. |

So capitalism is the way to go. Capitalize in every square inch to make the most money your talent and hustle can get you. I respect that. Not a Drake fan and curious to know where this would fit on an album, but Drake does his job well.
Kanye does a great job with the track. With a Reggaeton opening I was expecting something completely different. The beat switches up a few times displaying the excellent talent of Kanye the producer. Personally I prefer Drake the rapper but this is an easy run up the R&B Charts. |

Drake can sing there's no doubting that fact, but ive became more of a fan of his when he raps so I was hoping the 3rd single was going to be a rap song.
To this track, production has 808's Kanye written all over it. Drake sounded good, though I still cant see this being the sort of track that will be in heavy rotation by me or on the radio. 3.5 |

You can always count on DJBOOTH listeners to be QUALITY music fans and actually know what good music is.
Most of all the other blogs are filled with boneheads hating on this record, not understand the formula or anything. This record to be is incredible. This may sound like blasphemy, but it's better than every record on Kanye's "808s and Heartbreak". It's brighter and Drake can actually sing. I always felt "So Far Gone" was a better version of 808s, with rapping anyways, so this is the perfect hybrid song for my thinking process of the matter. This will be ate up by Pop Radio. What Z said makes SO MUCH sense, and I've recently been disturbed that some of these hip-hop purists out here want to continue to box hip-hop artists into one thing and won't allow them to expand. Luckily, they're the minority of musical consumption nowadays, and will just need to get with the program or continue to stay lost in the sauce. This type of stuff and the CLASSIC (yeah, I said it) B.o.B album and Kid Cudi is where hip-hop, urban music and music in general is headed and I love it. I think overall, the pros of this transition outweigh the cons. We're in for a great decade for music. |

This was a change to hear a R&B track with no rhyming from Drake, but in the grand scheme of things it helps to solidify him as a lyricist and vocalist. A decent job was done on release selection of this track to achieve the overall goal. I'm not a huge Drake fan, but "can't knock the hustle" this track will b pumped outta control like the rest of 'em!

Many people are going to rate everything with the name Drake on it as if it should be the best thing they ever heard because his name has so much hype right now. However, I am going to rate each song of his unbiased to give him what he deserves. The hook is very well done and enjoy Drake as a singer because I know he has it in him. Yes people compare it to 808 Kanye because I see some similarities, but this is define as well. If you want a Classic album Drake, it has to be crossover and glad to see that is the way you're going. Great production on this. Mixing in rap and singing really shows a talented artist. Deserves every credit , but should not be hyped over because it has the name Drake on it, but because of the way people should actually listen to every note and lyric.

Wasn't a huge fan of 808( I mean it was good, but paled in comparison to his previous albums) so the production was okay for me, was a bit disappointed that he didn't rap, but I guess his buzz is dying so he has get a radio hit. Still an enjoyable track, Drake can really sing.

I love the beat on this one. but when drake started singing, it kinda sounded off...
but after it all turned around with his HEY HEY HEY and immidiately this song sounded like a banger. drake knows how to make hits by having a lot of differnt kinds of beats to rap and use his vocals. thats why he is sick. great song Ps: no disrespect to kanye, but drake would have sound 808 & heartbreak way better. drake would have sounded sick with the 808s beats. |

Ok, ready for Mike Dreams to challenge me to a duel?
I totally understand why Drake's trying to be a dual threat with the singing/rapping, though let's not pretend like that's a purely artistic decision. (Locking up both the hip-hop & r&b demographic = huge sales). So to be clear, more power to him. Go ahead and sing your heart out Drake. However, he's really doesn't have that good of a voice. Sure, it's pretty good "for a rapper" or "for a guy who's not a singer", but if you had never heard of Drake before, if he was just some struggling new r&b artist, I guarantee you'd listen to this track and go, "ah, the dude's nothing special." I totally understand why folks are loving this, go ahead and love it. But personally, I'm just honestly not that interested. |

Brilliant production by Kanye West. I agree with DJ Z it sounds like an extended version of Kanye's 8O8s album.
Drakes vocals are off the charts, vocaally he is much better than KANYE AS HE DON'T NEED NO AUTO TUNE. Drake is definately anwsering the critics COMMENTS. This boy can sing, act, rap and so much more. Drake is the one to watch this year. His success will go to the crossover of his singing and rapping and this track displays that. As a single its either you hate it or love it, kind of thing. Because tghe single "Over" has set a really high benchmark which could be hard to live up to. |

And normally I would dissect the whole track but Nathan S. pretty much said how I feel...Drake is nowhere near on the singing level of Trey Songz or Usher. Haha yeah, this has Kanye West written all over it. I heard this yesterday afternoon and it was stuck in my head throughout the rest of the day. I really like the hook, and the verses are pretty solid as well. However, Kanye's production rarely has any downfalls and this is no exception.
While unlike most, I actually prefer to hear Drake sing rather than rap due to the fact that I feel he carries off singing better than he does rapping. Don't get me wrong though, "Uptown" made me a firm believer that Drake's rap skills are up to par with most MCs of this day and age. Singing wise though, Drake steals the show in my book whenever he decides to put his smooth graceful voice to use. On to the track, there aren't many flaws surrounding this one. Kanye's production is stellar and very reminiscent of his most recent album. Drake's verses are always A+ material in my book. With all said and done, "Thank Me Later" just may have a truly great shot at being called the number album of the year. I really hope he doesn't let me, and just about every other Drake fan down. 4.5 |

Simply sounds like a record that didn't make 808's, was this really the record that Drake wrote a handwritten letter to Beyonce to let him have it? This record is OK, honestly those of you who seriously believe that Drake can sing probably think Cassie can as well. This record is OK, The chorus chords sound very similar to those in Maxwell's "This Woman's Work." If Usher or Ne-Yo came with this record no chance this record would have been embraces as much. I'm not "hating" but I'm sick and tired of people gassing Drake up, and somebody needs to have the cohones to say something about it. Salute to Drake though, this could do decent on the radio

Yet aother great track from Drake This track is a straight up banger!!!!
This wasn't what I had expected, but I like it. He is an excellent singer, and this song will be a hit.

So to be clear, more power to him. Go ahead and sing your heart out Drake. However, he's really doesn't have that good of a voice. Sure, it's pretty good "for a rapper" or "for a guy who's not a singer", but if you had never heard of Drake before, if he was just some struggling new r&b artist, I guarantee you'd listen to this track and go, "ah, the dude's nothing special."

After a few listens, this song is great. Sounds like something that would have come off So Far Gone. I was afraid Drake would go downhill and would be over-hyped but he does good here. 3.5

@ Nathan S: Well said and I agree with you 100%
Drake's rise to fame and success with Young Money leaves him capable of pushing the envelope with things much sooner than other artists are able to do. It seems silly to say but in the short time has Drake hit mainstream, he's established himself in Hip-Hop. He can make an R&B track simply because he's Drake and who better to do it with than Mr. West. The product is worth as much as the brand. Drake has clearly branded himself in Hip-Hop and putting out a track like this is going to gain more favoritism than a R&B artist on this track with the same vocal talent. |
