Drake - Dreams Money Can Buy
Artist: Drake
Producer: Noah “40? Shebib
Album: Unreleased
Label: YMCMB/Universal Motown
If DJBooth.net had printing presses, somebody would be running down the hall right now screaming to stop them. What’s the occasion? Only a new, apropos-of-nothing-in-particular release from one of the heaviest heavyweights in the game, Aubrey “Drake” Graham. On unreleased joint The Dreams Money Can Buy, the T-dot hitmaker tells “...a story of dreams mixed with reality.” The subject matter is essentially Drizzy’s bread-and butter – the struggle to balance the demands of fame and fortune with the desire to live a normal life – but the execution is eminently fresh. Noah “40” Shebib handles production duties, flipping a sample from electronic artist Jai Paul‘s BTSU into a hazy backdrop for Drake’s confessional bars. Notably, the rap Lothario admits that he kinda enjoys breaking hearts: “I want women to cry and pour out their heart for me / and tell me how much they hate it when they’re apart from me / Lately I do b*tches the meanest / tell ‘em I love ‘em and I don’t ever mean it.” Harsh – but I have a feeling female fans will forgive him. Though Dreams isn’t set for inclusion on any forthcoming roject, fans can keep it locked to the Booth for everything Drizzy – including details on his in-progress sophomore set.

Released, unreleased, very dope. The mellow production is Drake's perfect accompaniment.

Same ole Drake. Not sure how I feel about the sample, but 40 put it together right for Drizzy (as if you expect less.) Decent.

This is pretty bad....weak lyrics all throughout the song and an annoying sample
Maybe everyone should listen to Elzhi's new project "Elmatic" instead of crap like this |

I need to find a term for backhanded confessions. Not tryin to hate on Drake since he's not the only one, it just bothers me hearing rappers essentially say "i feel bad that i have all the money, talent and women in the world." Especially when they brag about the exact same thing two sentences later. Good production and flow as always though.

From the potential tracklist Drake posted a while back, Dreams Money Can Buy was the very first song on the list. see here for more - http://bit.ly/jVy8Ce
Overall, a solid track from Drake. The Jai Paul sample is very fitting and he basically puts his raps on cruise control and keeps it moving. |

Nice track, liking the vibe and the sample on this one. 40 always has the best tracks, fk Lil Wayne, him and Drizzy are clearly the winning team! Glad Drake pulled that R&B mixtape, he is always brings the heat when he rhymes.

MTV says it is a leak from the new album. If this really is then Take Care is gonna be the So Far Gone on Roids everybody was looking for out of Thank Me Later but never got. I'd give his rap flow on this track an 8 out of 10. I've heard him spit better. But I'm loving the Jai Paul sample! When I heard that I knew he was going back to his So Far Gone roots. And just incase ya didn't know DRIZZY MANIA IS BACK!

40 really excels on the production. Drake also had one of his better showings from a flow and lyrical standpoint in a while. However, the lack of a chorus brings the song down a notch.

This is a track that only a man in Drake's position and status could write. The only reason why his lyrics hit home is because we all know he is on SuperstarDom, otherwise they would be weak. However, Drake is always known to speak his mind and put his feelings and inner thoughts on records even if it makesvhim look like a first class A-hole. But thats why he is great and we expect nothing less form the man.

Not bad at all, very mellow with a hint of mystery (complients of "40"), I could tell Drake is in his comfort zone with the subject matters such as the ones on this record.

Damn where do I start. First of all the sample is crazy, 40 is always constant with his production. Especially the beats he gives to Drake. I wasn't expecting a song like this, judging by the title I thought it was going to be a Birdman-ish track. But I love when Drake raps what's on his mind, he's still overrated when it comes to being a lyricists but over all he can craft good songs.
Isn't this like the 50th time Drake has mentioned Lil Wayne in his song? Or at least Young Money? Enough already. |

Drake does a good job with the track, but the lyrics just aren't cohesive. The track doesn't really make much sense. I agree that the sample is annoying, but the rest of the production is solid.

First time I heard this track I wasn't really feeling it, but his music grows on me quick. Last artist to stand out like this was Lil Wayne when I first heard Juvenile's 400 Degreez. Best Rapper alive going back to his old flow and a lot of people have been waiting for these kinda tracks. #BestRapperAlive
