Following his earlier underground hip-hop anthem, What The People Want, NYC MC Donny Goines has officially released the first single from his forthcoming new album, Minute After Midnight. On I Am Moving, the Manhattan native plans his path from the low-down underground to the big stages of hip-hop. Already well on his way thanks to legendary NY producer Dame Grease‘s low-level beat, I Am Moving makes for great background music for household chores or errands and should find itself a permanent home under many a pair of headphones. Minute After Midnight is currently set for a late summer release.
MAN! Dame Grease's production is chillingly solid! I definitely like this a lot. This is the nice alternative vibe. Donny Goines is a real sincere cat. I can dig it. I remember digging his previous single, but saying how it wasn't that good of a song as far as "making a good song" is concerned, though the lyrics were on point. This joint is definitely way smoother and is the complete package.
J Dilla's influence on smoothed out underground joints is really felt on this song. Donny Goines is gaining more popularity with every track he releases and it's only going to be a matter of time until he is household name, just look at what happened to Joell Ortiz.
This is fire! damnative I'm dyin over here with that man! // this song is hot. production is really tight. hook is smooth and refreshing. i'm diggin this song alot.
AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH!!!!!!!! SAMPLING A FRUITY LOOPS DEMO SONG FOR THE CHORUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN'T BELIEVE THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Donny has been doin' the damn thing for sometime now, but truthfully, he held back here; this song does not even break the ice on his skills. Instead, what this song does is showcase Dame as one helluva producer. Very impressed.
