Being a New York City resident, Donny Goines knows all about the ins, outs, ups, and downs of of the industry. Having gone through plenty of setbacks in his life, Goines uses his music as a way to express his frustrations – something you’ll find plenty of on his upcoming debut album, Minute After Midnight. On the project’s second single, an obviously irritated Goines informs the audience that they Can’t Fit In My Shoes. The record points out of the pressure of big money raps, while so many struggle just to pay the electric bill. With DJ Snips working the production end, however, Can’t Fit In My Shoes will certainly turn a few heads. Minute After Midnight will be released this December, when the nights are at their longest.

Hard message on this one by Goines. Doesnt sound as good as Vibe Wit Me but the production is solid on this one. His lyrics are solid and I can listen to this. In rotation

Good message. Thoughtful wordplay. However the beat mixed with his tone can make this alil boring. Especially after listening to Mims and Shopaholic. lol I'm loosing my mind!

I dig the soulful sample. Donny Goines is a'ight. I can only tolerate so much belligerent east coast rap. The message is deep, definitely. But it's almost getting redundant, with no innovation. I like the hook and I can understand the struggle. I'll throw it in rotation and may listen again, but IDK. It's not moving me at the moment.

Donny always impresses me. I think he could benefit from some better production, but overall its an enjoyable listen. If you are on the fence with this one, listen again. I mean, really listen!

Definitely a nice trace, but maybe could have done with an additional 'twist'. Saw the video yesterday, definitely adds a dimension to the lyrics
