If you haven’t noticed him yet, then maybe it’s time to open your eyes and get with upcoming ATL rapper and DJBooth Freestyle alum Donnis. Fresh off the XXL Freshman Top 10 list, Donnis is continuing to make big moves in hopes of turning 2010 into his takeover year. With both an EP and a mixtape dropping on June 22, the world is about to get a whole lot of Donnis. From the aforementioned EP, entitled Fashionably Late, Donnis brings us his new single Yup. The banging production is compliments of veteran producer Needlz, and features heavy drums and some appealing synthesizers that will get your head bobbin. The only thing missing is a Rihanna sample…oh wait, it has that too. As far as Donnis’ flow, those familiar with his work won’t be disappointed. He comes in hungry and determined, and with a few punch lines to seal the deal, this is a solid single to represent the forthcoming project. So I like the track? “Yup, you know this,” but what do y’all think?

In the chorus Donnis says, "Man, they so bogus." Clearly, he is not talking about the tracks on his new EP. Because if they sound anything like "Yup" he's got one heck of a project on his hands.
Needlz plane has been boarding for years. Maybe if this really blows it will take off for good.

I still bang Diary Of An ATL Brave to this day, one of the most enjoyable debut mixtapes ever released (yes it was that good imo).
Production from Needlz is dope, I really liked the use of the Rihanna sample (Yup, you noticed). Donnis always brings a dope flow and the lyrics are also pretty solid. Out of all this years freshman, im most keen to hear what Donnis will deliver on Fashionably Late. |

This also reminds me of JD Era 'You Know This' as in they used the same sample of Rihanna, seriously if you aint got JD's Th1rte3n mixtape yet, you are missing out

My first reaction was "you're a little late using this Rihanna sample", but the album is titled Fashionably Late, so on second thought I guess it fits.
Beat knocks and Donnis proves he deserves to be called on the game's best young spitters. The dude could definitely be a problem when this album drops.

The Rihanna sample caught me off guard but damn it rhymed with the song definitely feeling this. Donnis was hard on this "...i can longer party with nobody am somebody.."

Who is this guy again? Have never heard from him before, but damn. One track down and I want to hear more. This track is a prime example of everything coming together perfectly. From the hook, to the Rihanna sample, to Donnis' wordplay. I'll be on the lookout for this guy.

Creative use of a newer sample. I like how he speaks over the sample which gives the effect they were both in the booth together. The beat is definitely a banger. Ready for the next Donnis project.

Drake-mania had cats sleeping on cats like Bobby Ray and Donnis. Gone is getting people to wake up from their Donnis slumber. This track is a definite banger. The sample is better than that crap song.
