Though there are some who would try and pin hip-hop’s “death” on the rise of Southern rap, few could deny the region’s important contributions to the genre. From famed ATLien duo OutKast to the morose Geto Boys, the South has produced artists that have been well received both critically and commercially. Following in the footsteps of freshman emcee B.o.B, fellow ATL native Donnis is getting ready to raise his profile with the release of Diary Of An Atlanta Brave, a collaborative mixtape with 10 Deep. Over Do It finds Donnis getting busy over an epic bassline by D. Focis, touching on his experiences with industry politics as well as spitting one of the illest defecation-related punchlines I’ve heard in some time. Boasting production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Tha Bizness, and many more, Donnis’ latest street album is scheduled to hit the ‘net August 20th.

There are a handful of emcees in Atlanta who we check-in with weekly (see: B.o.B., Embassy Music Board, Bobby Creekwater, Stanza) and few have garnered the rave reviews that Donnis has seen inside our Booth. D. Focis hands over one heck-of-a production piece and Donnis does the damn thing. 2010 will be this young man's coming out party.

banging production. Bangin Lyrics. I found it kinda funny though that d.focis had his own feature today too and was producer on this track... maybe its just entertaining to me lol

D.Focis (a name I’m not too familiar with) did a great job making the beat epic and not corny. And Donnis delivers with this track. Definitely sounding real passionate here .... 3.5

More heat from D Focis? I love this beat right here. Dirty Diana type rock Guitar sound is epic. Donnis is cool on this. The beat is what made this for me though.
