When an artist sought a major label record deal back in the day (or more like just a few years ago), they would need to produce a demo and send it via snail mail to the company of their choice. Today, on the other hand, all you need to do is record yourself performing a cover of the most popular songs on the charts and post it on YouTube. For proof, look no further than reality-born Sachse, Texas native Dondria Nicole. Scooped up by Island Urban Music record executive Jermaine “The DJ Is Dead” Dupri (he said that, not me), Dondria will release her debut, Dondria vs. Phatfffat, less than six weeks after dropping her new single, Can’t Stop. Produced by Dupri (along with Bryan-Michael Cox), this catchy, upbeat record showcases the young singer’s amazing vocals and will have you singing along by the time the song’s bridge hits.

PHAT PHAT! What up beautful? This song is not what I want from you. This is rockish, but I think It's gonna rock these tinniebopers so with that being said, I think it'll work. Not 4 me but will get spins.

The beat aint to bad it kinda has a nice feel to it but yeah this aint a good beat though. But nice sounding. Well actually listening to the end I do like this beat actually.

Big A, you're crazy if you think Rihanna and Chris Brown can't sing. This is an awesome track. Dondria actually really reminds me of Rihanna vocally, visually and style wise. This is some mad different production from Jermaine Dupri as well. This is a solid radio track. If older people can't get with it, I guess it's not directed to you. Us younger folk (16-25) are the biggest purchasers of music anyways, so they are targeting us. 4 stars!

michaelhannah well Rihanna CAN'T sing! Have you ever heard her live? She sounds absolutely awful. I'm always ready to recognise talented singers, but Rihanna IS NOT. She is good-looking and has luck, but has not so much talent. At the VMA's she sang Umbrella and it didn't even seem the same song, she performed really badly believe me! And that wasn't the only occasion in which I heard her sing!
This Dondria has a very good voice, the song is good but I wouldn't add it to my mp3 player. At least it's cheerful, fresh and catchy and many will love it! |

nah they can't sing, especially not Rihanna. maybe we talking about different artists or you just have no clue about music, its theory and its history at all. Just if a song sounds hot in your ears, doesn't mean the artist is a great singer. |

Actually Patty, I just heard and met Rihanna last week. She was awesome Live @ the Glow in the Dark tour and puts on a great show too, might I add! Big-A, please go somewhere. I don't know anything about music? PLEASE! What do you do? Don't let a couple of botched performances or your jealously of successful young artists have you deny that they have talented ability.

Rihanna is just a beautiful girl with amazing luck. She has no talent as an entertainer at all. She can't sing or dance just had to throw my two cents in there. I actually like this song. It would start to bore me after a while though. I appreciate her voice though and I definitely want to hear more from her.

my jealousy, oh yeah of course haha. I am SO jealous, I also wanna know how to dance like a wannabe Michael Jackson, can you teach me? and what I do? it's pretty simple. I will listen to any Rihanna or CB song you give me and Imma tell you that they can't sing good. At least not what I call singing! I @*#$! don't care how "hot" their songs are or how much they entertain you, in this life they will never be a good singer.

michaelhannah maybe she has improved, who knows. Or we have to consider that also singers can be fit sometimes and less fit other times...maybe when I heard her she was tired, she wanted to concentrate more to the show! For my personal taste, I don't like her voice, I'm sure there are more talented girls in the world, but if u don't have luck, u don't become famous! Chris Brown can sing, he has a beautiful voice :P
The only thing to do is to call Rihanna and ask her: "Riri, please can u tell me if u can sing? Do u think you're talented? Auhauhauhauh"! |

Oh I forgot, you anglosaxon always confuse jealousy with envy...in this case we would be ENVIOUS of Rihanna, not jealous...jealous means that I don't want her to pay attention to others coz I want her attention only for me, envious that I'd like to have some of her qualities...I know these 2 adjectives are the same in English, but it's not right for me...in Italian that's happening, too...but they have 2 completely different meanings. lesson finished :pPpPpPpP
