I was thinking of kicking this one off with a reference to A League of Their Own but, on second thought, a comparison to the classic women’s baseball film wouldn’t be accurate – as she explains on newly-leaked EP inclusion Batter Up (making its world premiere here in the Booth!) Ohio femcee (and exclusive freestyle series alum) Dominique Larue is ready, willing and able to step up to the plate and hit whatever any lady or gent can pitch her way. Over Idasa Tariq‘s head-nodding beat, centered around a creatively sliced-and-diced sample from The Intruders’ Love Is Like a Baseball Game, Larue flows with well-warranted confidence, lacing the record’s front half with aggressive, sports-themed braggadocio. Second up to bat is none other than the track’s producer, who boasts of being “one of the best emcees in the game who’s making beats.” on his closing verse. So, readers, have Dominique Larue and her multi-talented collaborator hit this one out of the park? It feels so great to co-sign on an emcee after just listening to one song and then several months later you get consistency and class like the offering here from Ms. Larue.
Next week, expect more of the same in HerStory.

she is so dope on this! I like everything about this track. I'd like it better if she rocked both verses... not that dude ain't on point with the vox, just that she is on the next level with hers. I give it full marks anyway. I dig showing love.
