Here to vie for the king of the summer crown is L.A. fast riser Dom Kennedy and his new single My Type of Party, a mellow but catchy ode to living the good life. Producer DJ Dahi crafts a trippy and hypnotic beat for Party that’s the definition of mellowed out; if this is a party it’s a relaxed one. On the mic Dom keeps things simple and hedonistic, luxuriating in life’s simple pleasures: “Your girl got a cute face / her friend got a nice body / and they just wanna have fun, this my type of party.” So how about it DJBooth Nation? Will this be the Party anthem that carries you through the sweltering summer months? Don't hate me for this, but I don't understand why everyone thinks Dom Kennedy is amazing. He is cool, but there is zero wow factor in his delivery.

DJ Z. I like Dom Kennedy myself but I do know where you coming from. Dom Kennedy has the mania cuz he from LA with that Southern delivery which appeals the big southern citys ATL, Memphis Nashville, and Miami. Straight Track tho.
