When a well-known mixtape DJ compiles a full-length album, strong lyrical firepower tends to accompany it, and when that DJ is Kay Slay, you can expect nothing less than the best. On 6 Million Ways to Die, an inclusion on his forthcoming studio album, three highly energized emcees bring the heat over a sample from the Snoop Dogg classic, Serial Killa; Bun B emphasizes how he’s ready for anything, while Papoose reminds us of Sean Bell, the recent southern hurricanes, and the possibility of Barack Obama being assassinated. On the song’s final verse, however, Chamillionaire (maintaining his curse-free style) entertainingly makes it clear that he doesn’t like the police any more now than he did when he was Ridin’ Dirty. Though More Than Just a DJ currently has no set release date, underground mixtape buzz could give it a sturdy calendar spot.
Listen to DJ Kay Slay's 6 Million Ways to Die ft. Papoose, Bun B, & Chamillionaire More songs from DJ Kay Slay
I havent been feeling much from Kay Slay's new project. This chorus is so bad it's embarassing, and the production is just kind of off. Papoose tears this up though, as well as Chamillionaire. For those 2, i'll give it a 2. But the rest of the track would force me to skip through this joint.
DJ Kay Slay went in! Bun B rode this beat nicely. The hook is eerily ill! MAN! Papoose's verse was SO ILL! Listen to his lyrics man...a lot of issues references in there. He smashed this track! Koopa smashed it as well. I'm digging the clean flow, while still Kay-Slaying fools in the game! Overall, it's a track deserving rotation. Maybe 3 and half stars...so I'll be nice today and give it 4.
michaelhannah, you know your opinion is always respected by me. But I'm not seeing how you can get with that hook? "6 million ways to die, choose 1" repeated constantly with no energy or effort. Help me out bro?
YEAH THIS BEAT IS DOPE,I HEARD 50 DO A REMAKE OF THIS SERIAL KILLER AND I THINK THIS BEAT IS BETTER,I THINK BUN B AND PAPOOSE RIP THIS UP WITH CHAM SHOWING HOW LYRICAL HE IS IN HIP HOP TODAY..
The lineup is fresh. Kay Slay is the KING of the compilation record. Khaled, Felli Fel and all my DJ family learned what they know today for Mr. Slay. I do not care for the production here, but I loved Serial Killa back in the day and its a nice refresh. Cham kills this, his verse was the most entertaining.
This is extremely boring...the beat is good but I don't like Papoose, he's absolutely annoying! Bun B and Chamillionaire are good. Sorry Mrmag without realizing it I have written the same as you lol! OK
its a good collabo but bad production..the hook is wack the beat is wack but each rapper tears it up..if it was produced a bit better and had a different hook it would be a banger. cant wait till chamillionaire's album drops this december..
Songs good, the chorus definitely could have been stepped up quite a bit, but it's not as bad as some of you are saying it is. cham kills it, bun b does what he always does and wrecks it, never really liked papoose so im not gonna dog the guy. decent song not the best i've heard though.
