With all the hoopla surrounding the forthcoming release of Grand Theft Auto IV, it is easy to forget that each of the successful video games in the series has had an accompanying soundtrack. Leading off the new project is NYC’s DJ Green Lantern, who has resurrected vocals from an unreleased Akon song entitled I’m So Fly, and turned it into a radio-ready smash. Featuring fellow New York rappers Fat Joe and Fabolous, I’m So Fly utilizes Kon’s original vocals for the hook and bridge, while Lantern uses his production skills to string it all together. The soundtrack and the game will be available on April 29.
Akon should be outlawed, everything he touches turns to gold,,,,even when Fat Joe is on it!lol Beat is solid and loso killed it, incase you didnt know so
the original is much better, except that fabolous goes hard on this. Fat Joe is really bad once again, but it stays in my rotation for sure. I wish Joey wasn't on this though.
Green Lantern's production was solid. Fab's verse was nicely delivered. Akon is okay on this. This isn't his best work and the "I'm So Fly" part has got to go.
More artists have taken this unreleased track from Akon, than times I have had to delete stupid comments (and that comes daily). However, Lantern finally did something with it... Loso kills it. Dude is mad underrated.
Much more interesting than the original, has a catchier beat to say the least. I don't think akon had much of a creative influence on this beat (less the vocals ofcourse). For me, Green Lanterns work is always bumpin' for the first 15 listens, then it always gets forgettable for me. I'm liking this track, but it's definitely not even close to other recent akon endevours.
Fabolous has always been crazy, ppl have always under-rated him but Iv always stuck by the dude, Fat Joe is getting better in my books (meaning Im getting more used to him lol) but I still dont like him too too much. All in all, the chorus is good, the production is simple but good, and Loso kills it completely. Akon purely delivers for real for real!
Not bad not bad. That1kid I can understand you, Akon's tone colour is very particular and you can get tired of it very fastly, but I generally love his songs/collaborations. And I enjoy this, too
This song is dope, I can't believe its coming off of a soundtrack for a video game. I will be thinkin' of the DJ Booth while I'm runnin' around the city stealing cars and killing people in GTA IV. LOL!!
good video game track thats all lol i am also getting sick of akon on every hook with the same vocals singing about stuff he probably never did in his life he not a gangsta lmao
pretty good track...is green lantern gonna do an album with this or what? anyways i'm not crazy about akon hooks lately with the exception of kidd skilly's ni sohniye...not bad overall
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Joe ruined the track. I was enjoying the production, Akon and Fab and than Fat joe comes in and ruins it. :( Darn you Joe.
i dont know why yalll hate on joe, his album is pretty hott you dudes always trash on him, and loso might be the most underrated rapper in the game, his punch lines remind me of Big L in a way
I've been waiting for some Fabolous. Fab's got it on this. I'm tired of Akon but catch myself enjoying him occasionally. I can def. see this track on a game. Good song.
