DJBooth featured the DJ Felli Fel hit single, Get Buck In Here, early last summer. Thanks to the star-studded collaboration, Felli landed a three-single deal (that later turned into a full album deal) courtesy of Jermaine Dupri and Island Urban Music. So, what landed him that deal? The Finer Things, a Felli-produced slow jam with Ne-Yo on the hook and verses from Kanye and Fabolous. When Felli spoke with DJBooth in December he explained that after J.D. heard the song, it was a wrap. Originally, The Finer Things was also set to feature Snoop Dogg, but the rapper had to pull out because of his upcoming album. Andre 3000 got a call about it too, but when he declined, label boss Dupri kindly stepped in. Felli’s debut album, Go DJ!, is set to drop this summer.

I heard this track awhile back as well but I had no idea that it was organized by DJ Felli Fel. I really like the mood and tone of this record, it's not too wild but you can still really groove to it on the dance floor. Felli Fel has a great potential to become one of the dominant DJs in the industry, he stands out from the competition because of his dance vibe instead of the ordinary hood banger. |
