Last December, DJ Drama unleashed Gangsta Grillz The Album; roughly a year later, Drama has donned his Grillz once again for the first official release off the album’s forthcoming sequel. For the Drumma Boy-produced single, Day Dreaming, Drama enlists emcees Snoop Dogg and T.I. as well as hook singer du jour Akon, each of whom describes his own fantasy female. Though several other records (see The-Dream’s Stripper Love) linked to the compilation album have popped up all over the net this past month, Drama has confirmed with DJBooth that they were all “unauthorized leaks.” No specific release date has been attached to the project, but it is expected to drop in the second quarter of ‘09.

Anyways, This joint is okay. I was tired of hearing Akon on records in 2006, so he sounds annoying on this joint. Snoop was okay. T.I. snapped on this though with his smooth flow. Overall, the track is not the great though. This isn't quality music in my opinion. |

Unfortunately I listened to these songs this morning, when the site had problems and we couldn't rate and comment. I won't listen to all the songs again, but this one is the only one I really liked! It's a typical Akon song but I love all Akon's songs...it's catchy! Ps: I voted in the best of the booth, great survey, congrats!

Akon almost always kills every hook he's on but there was something about his delivery on this that just didnt click for me. Overall, a pretty good song. I can see it getting good radio play.

At first I was like "Akon's not doing as good as I expected him to do"- but it actually got better and I kind of enjoyed it. He didn't have his nice soft voice though- he sounded like he was kind of yelling through his nose- lol...you know what I mean. I think Snoop did waaay better than T.I. on this one. T.I. was boring and sounded the same as he usually does- nothing new. So, it's just in rotation for me.

First heard this a couple weeks ago, and wasn't really feeling Snoop at all. But this past week the song's definitely grown on me. It's hot for sure.

i remember when the unmastered version of this joint leaked a couple weeks back......damn Akon's voice was HORRIBLE without autotune or whatever he uses to make his voice sounds great! the thing is he uses it so discreetly that it makes his otherwise below average voice sound so melodic, without that full on T-Pain effect. His album is full of this! Check him live, its a wreck :(
ANYWAYZ......this song is good, still i expected more from Tip and Snoop, why are their verses so short???? Looking foward to gangsta grillz 2, the booth should get that Tipper Love joint with The-Dream...that should be the 1st single! |
