After creating numerous mixtapes with artists like Capone (of Capone-n-Noreaga) and AZ, Massachusetts native DJ DeadEye has finally decided to break out nationally.  The first step to doing that is a single, and in this case it is Girl Interrupted. While the cut might share its name with the famed ’90s flick starring Angelina Jolie, the new Girl takes a completely different route, telling the harsh story of life as experienced by girls in this nation’s ghettos. Labelmate and producer Statik Selektah supplies rhymers Skyzoo and Termanology with lounge-like piano keys and clips of conversations between various femme fatales over which to flow.  Though DeadEye and his guests have seen plenty of young women suffer from poor self-confidence, Girl Interrupted encourages an individual hustle that is safe and responsible. Expect additional tales of life in and out of the hood when DJ DeadEye’s debut, Substance Abuse, is released early next year.

This beat is dopeness, Termanology is dopeness, now I don't know about this skyzoo dude. I just can't get into his music dude. So off of GP for Term and the beat I'll give this a 2.

The sampling on this one was really hot. I think it's DJ Deadeye who starts it off with "Another black girl lost, another Nas track" which was on point cause this did have some old Nas, 2pac, or common "I used to love her" vibe stuff like looking at life and people in it. Teach me...never heard of this cat or anyone else on the song but this one should make a nice supporting track on the album. Look foward to hearing more from DJ Deadeye and his crew as they develop.

The production on this song is on point...chillin and sexy music! Termanology's flow is ok, don't know about Skyzoo. It's a good song but not my type, too slow, after a while I get bored. In rotation

Lyrically on point, but a bit boring. Giving it 3 stars, but will not be in rotation for me!

I agree with MMoore, here. Great message, nice delivery, and much-needed concept. Statik is solid as always on the beat.

With all that said, I can't say I'd listen to it again.

I like the message in this song. The beat is great, but the piano is really what does it for me. I agree with GMan it is a mix of 3 artists that take you back to the old days. I am feeling the movie clips, especially from Player's Club!

Beat was good and laid back, but with the footage from Playas Club, the song makes me want to go watch it again just to see fight in the dresser room go down again and laugh my butt off. *LOL* I dont think I need to tell more, some of ya'll seen the movie. :)
