If you’ve watched any music videos done by Florida rappers (Rick Ross, Plies, etc…) lately, you might have noticed a certain Terror Squad DJ making a frequent appearance. No, Khaled didn’t just get a clean shave; the one making these cameos is Tampa’s very own, DJ Christion. Ready to follow in the footsteps of his TS big bro, Christion has released a compilation single, but unlike Khaled (who invites a Florida all-star team) Christion opts to showcase some of the Sunshine State’s more slept-on MCs. On Trend Setters, Miami producer/artist Dre, Christion protégé Trinity (who also made the beat), Little Haiti representative Smitty and Epidemic/Pologrounds‘ C-Ride all show the world that lesser names can stunt as hard as the big boys.
michaelhannah- i read that, and i hadn't started the song, im like what, but yeah i hear it.. *cough*
so this song, isn't really catchy enough to catch radio play, replace the sick rick ross, and everyone else, and you have a hit... maybe.
Considering this batch of artists hasn't achieved a damn thing in the rap world -- as MC's that is (Dre has done it big on the production tip) -- they don't sound THAT bad. If I had to make a prediction, based on this song alone, I would say that given half a change... Smitty would bring the most fire.
That "sick Rick Ross" would be Dre (of Cool & Dre)...It's gonna take a while for y'all to get used to him rapping again, but he's giving it a shot. Good to see Smitty and C-Ride still going at it too, and I can't wait to hear more of Trinity. I think the shave is the only way y'all can tell Christion apart from Khaled.
Reminds me a bit of Khaled's Holla At Me Baby, which launched his successful DJ career. Give it a chance people (But Dre still needs a cough drop).
haha i thought it wuz DJ Kaled and i thought u named him wrong...but den i looked closer-wuzn't him...lol anyway it aint dat bad.....idk...2 gud enough?
it duz sound kinda like rick ross 1st verse not really feeling it but dats 2 be expected without any real "heavyweights" on here apart from dre(cool & dre) but hes better doing the production cud hear twista doing this beat??
Can anyone please explain me why do these so-called producers (Dj Khaled, and now, Christion) drop albums?! What do they do anyway?! They only scream annoyingly and we say it’s their songs? Anything hot from Khaled’s albums was produced by Cool&Dre, The Runners or someone like that… did he ever produce a hot song? I guess we don’t need another Khaled! And besides, this beat is not even good enough, so what’s the point in Christion “stealing” it? DJ Felli Fell (who actually produces) must be ashamed of being in the same wave as them.
@M. Burmy, Holla At Me Baby had known rappers on it, Paul Wall, Weezy, Fat Joe... this is way dif. After hearin Bitch I'm From Dade County on Khaled's album, I think we can safely say that FL doesn't have that much talent left haha
Why all these low ratings? I'm impressed, I'm always the contrary of ya'll! I believe that you all hate me, lol! Well to me it's in rotation, I like the beat, soooo catchy! I wouldn't put it in my mp3 player, but in a club I would dance to it
this could work in the clubs but not much else...these dj compilation records need AT LEAST 2 big names to make it to the radio haha...i don't mind dre rappin but when he's the star of the show the track ain't goin anywhere
First since when has it been alright for DJ's to call themselves Rappers, the game is messed up Im a DJ and its sad how DJ Khaled and his little twin fat brothers (and Fat Joe) oh SHit I Get It They Trying To Bring The Fat Boys.LOL
I AGREE IVE ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS WACKED WHEN THESE DJS GOT TITLED AS THE ARTIST OF A TRACK BUT NEVER SAID SHIT? BUT I NEED TO SAY IM FROM THE TAMPA AND IVE CHILLED WITH CHRISTION SEVERAL TIMES AT "BENTON RECORDS" WHAT UP ANGEL! BUT NEWAYS CHRISTION WHEN HE WAS 18 WOULD GET A ENTIRE RECORD STORE FULL OF DJS AND THEY WOULD DROP THEY JAWS TO THE FLOOR WATCHING THIS BOY LITERALLY TEAR UP 2 TURNTABLES BETTER THAN FUNK FLEX! AND THAT AINT NO BULLSHIT THE BOY IS SICK ON TABLES
