Leave it to West Coast native (and member of Dilated Peoples), DJ Babu, to bring the Northeast-based duo of M.O.P. back together for a brand new record. (In case you are unfamiliar with Babu’s work on the 1’s and 2’s, do some Google work on this highly-respected battle champion.) On the Filipino-American’s new single, Dearly Departed, brass-based, old-school production acts as a more-than-appropriate backdrop for emcees Billy Danze and Lil’ Fame, who have temporarily split to pursue solo projects, to spit their characteristic highly-energized rhymes over. Dearly Departed is set for inclusion on the October 28 release of Duck Season 3.

Dear Uncle Travis... next time you jump on here and RATE a song, actually listen to it. Babu is nowhere on the track, he only produced it (see blurb above for further evidence). The two emcees on the beat are the legendary duo of M.O.P.....

Second that. The homie travis is a kid, I don't expect him to be on M.O.P. I am though and I'll be the first to tell you, this is not their best work. My personal fav is ANTE Up remix and also the Cold as Ice joint. Yea thats what I connect MOP with. This is cool though. BABU serves up a cool beat here.

In my opinion the production is very cool...he is a bit annoying, though! I don't know these DJ Babu and M.O.P. but this isn't a bad work...it's ok!

Ok i don't understand all the hate. M.O.P. is always high energy and all and the production is nice. It acheives like this sort of jazzy darkness. Real nice joint right here. Another M.O.P. favorite of mine is Half and Half. I listen to that song before every football game and it gets me pumped as hell.

I almost always like dialated peoples beats and thats cus most of them but not all come from Dj Babu and he does a real nice job on this one too. I thought MOP sounded real nice over this track. This beat would of fit his crew better but like I said Mop does real nice work on here.

"uncle" travis should b nephew kid....dj babu goes hard and has been since i can remember and MOP shined on the 1st duck season this is no exception..i like this joint the beat may not be energetic grime go hard but i feel soul from this upbeat material from babu..mop is nice
