The current trend of major DJs releasing full-length compilation albums has expanded north of the border, as Toronto’s DJ Baba Khan released his own set, Culture Shock: East Meets West, this past March. One of the hit singles spawned from the album is Tonight, featuring the king of Toronto hip-hop, Kardinal Offishall, as well as Montreal R&B singer Sunny Brown. Adding additional energy to the track, veteran hypeman Fatman Scoop gets everybody moving on the dance floor and Baba Khan (under his alias of Lomaticc) provides a techno club-ready beat. Culture Shock has become almost as big as hockey, beer, and drinking beer while watching hockey in Canada; will it be able to cross over to the States? Only time will tell.

If you've ever been to one of babakahn's sets you'll know he's very adept to playing to the crowd and this track does just that. This must be getting a lotta club play over in T.O. and for just cause; it's hot! (as is the production). I love the south asian influences throughout as well, I would assume it'd work very well in T.O., but other regions of the US... I dunno. My suggestion is to listen to it with an open mind and feel the beat.
I told a few DJs in Chicago to try this one out at the club... needless to say it brought the house down. Fatman Scoop never fails and Kardinal is Top 10 slept on rappers of the last eight years. Big UPS to Baba Kahn.
this was alright .... sounded like was goin to be a banga like crazy but some dude was yellin in some weird language haha for the course comeon!!.... it just kinda messed up the feelin of the song for me .... but overall was tight tho in rot .... maby a remix .... bc it was almost there to break through
I though better from the start. I was expecting to hear a banger! It's not a bad song, the beat is hot and it's perfect for clubs, but I don't like Fatman's voice and the voicebox...brrr...ok don't wanna repeat this again! I'm a voicebox hater lol! It's in rotation for sure, it may grow on me
Honestly, I am not really feeling this at all. I just think it sounds confused and there is just too much going on here at once. You have a very loud beat with sound effects on it...with Fatman Scoop yelling over the top of this AND then there is someone with a Voice Box on top of all that!!! Production is just OK and sloppily put together. It's just OK to me.
lol... wow definitely Indian and west Indian/ Caribbean... of course its gonna of be different.... there’s other good Indian and west Indian/ Caribbean mixes out there that haven't been popular here so I’m not sure this is gonna have any affect in the U.S …. pretty sure its gonna do good in places like the mid east… and Caribbean, but then again this song isn’t the best compared to the other songs of it’s type/genre …. I give it a 3!
The purpose of this song has one goal: Get the dance floor packed. And it sure will succeed. I feel more of traditional Indian influence and not an Asian influence obecalp, unless you are using Asian as an umbrella term for all of the territories that fall in the Asian continent. It will be a matter of time until this drops here, if it hadn't already. I know I will be putting this into spin.
the background shouting is drowned out by the beat on good speakers (meaning stereos, clubs, and cars), its not an influence on the song. good track, banger
@Blaze: He's not using a voice box, that's actually how he sounds. The main problem here is the barrier set up by the punjabi chorus. This is just SICK.
It must be the Indian in me but i'm def. feeling this! I gotta defend this song: Yea there is a lot going on in this track but indian music is like that. If you heard this in a club you def. be going crazy...I know im gonna hear this a lot come wedding season.
ghost rider: why do so many people suggest other artists for songs? This song is sick as it is so let it be, i dont think this is QUITE what t.i. is looking to be featured on lol.. and listen to how well Kardi and Fatman fit on a beat like this.. SICK, so PEOPLE.. STOP SUGGESTING OTHER ARTISTS SHOULD DO SONGS
