And now the moment everyone’s been anxiously waiting for! Ok, a lot of people. Ok, fine, some people – it’s a Dipset reunion! After ruling the charts in ’03 and ’04, Dipset fell apart, but major players Cam’ron, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana have put their beef aside and come together once again for the riding Salute. Lyrically this is more of less vintage Dipset: Jim Jones continues to improve, Cam’ron drops some not-even-remotely-family-friendly punchlines and Juelz closes things off with the smoothest verse of the three. Unfortunately, and I’ll try to be Camronish (I mean Diplomatic) about this, araabMUZIK puts together one of the most aggravating beats I’ve heard in a minute - it sounds like a malfunctioning fire alarm - but I’m trying not to let it damper the mood. Ultimately, as always, many will hate Salute, but longtime Dipset supporters should be able to forgive its flaws and turn the volume up. We can expect a reunion album from the new and impr…well, ne…well, Dipset soon, though when that will be and what it will be titled are still unknown.

Not exactly what I was hoping for when I dreamt about their (eventual) reunion collabo. But, I'll take it - because it means we might get a full album, which will undoubtedly contain better records than this.
I suggest they check out those crates with the old-school soul samples...

I hate this beat but this sounds like something Dipset would spit over. Kind of a dissapointment that this is the big reunion a lot of people were hoping for but lyrically it was decent.
Jim was average but is getting annoying, Cam was the best like I predicted, and Juelz was pretty good with those punch lines but still isn't as great as I've always wanted him to be. Hopefully better material will come from the trio. |

I've been bumpin this for a couple days now. As usual Jim Jones' adlibs are more entertaining than his verse. Cam'ron went in as usual and Juelz got some chuckles out of me as well.

I was definitely waiting for them to come back as a team. Even if its without Max B, SAS, JR Writer, and Hell Rell, its still better than no reunion at all. I am feeling the production on here and the Chorus is just right for Dipset! This is definitely what I remember from 03 and 04. This is Easily BANGER status for me! I'm sure they will come correct for the Album.

Someone needs to flip a track using Jones' "You think I give a f**k about sparkles?" quote. Out of context that's hilarious.
Anyway, the beat's painful, but it's good to hear Dipset back together, especially with Jones so much better. Hopefully successive tracks will be better, but for now I'm just happy to have em back.

The beat is an acquired taste, but it grows on you. They all could have come harder, really, but it's Dipset, and it's a fine return. With a beat like that, hate it or love it, you won't forget it.

the beat seems to scratch my ear drums. (not a good thing). I won't listen to this again because of the instrumental. BUt it seems like the usual extreme dipset instrumental with the scratch synths... but damn i t feels like my ear is bleeding. I won't listen to this again willingly. 3 for the rappers and hook. -2 for the beat.
