What’s 15-year-old rap hopeful (and Rev Run progeny) Diggy Simmons been up to since he gave Boothgoers What They Been Waiting For back in mid-May? Well, on the positive tip, he was chosen as a finalist for the Sucker Free Summit’s Breakthrough Emcee of 2010; unfortunately, he’s also in the midst of a nasty breakup, which he describes on this newly-leaked mixtape cut. Backed by the smooth keyboard, shuffling percussion and light synths of producer T Minus, Simmons confesses that he still finds himself Thinkin Bout his former girl constantly, and ponders whether he still has place in her heart and mind. The emcee may be young, but his heartbroken words ring sincere, and the smooth hook vocals of increasingly Booth-acclaimed rapper/singer/producer Bei Maejor only make the track’s emotional appeal more persuasive. Whether or not Diggy Simmons manages to win back that special girl (here’s hoping!), though, those who like what they’re hearing can expect more high-quality music later this month, when the artist’s AirBorne mixtape hits the ‘net.

It seems the consensus amongst our readers on Diggy's past features is that the kids got talent. However, I do remember reading a few comments about him "sounding young." Well, first off - he is young (he is 15). Second, on this new record, he sounds both older in delivery and vocals.
The key for me is that it doesn't sound awkward, forced, or uncomfortable. Along with Bei's super smooth hook and T-Minus' production, I think this could crack a few playlists...

I've been diggin his music since that first tape. He does still sound young, naturally, but I like his sound. The production's very sparce during the verses, but Diggy manages to still keep the listener's attention. Well done

I am sincerely impressed. He sounds more grown than most rappers I hear nowadays, at least in his lyrical ability and mature flow. It's a good, smooth track that a lot can relate to.

I've got a feeling I'm going to end up writing the same thing for every Diggy track. Being so young and the son of a musical legend on some level you're waiting for him to make something wack, but every time you press play you're like, "damn, this is actually pretty good."
Shades of a young MJ with Diggy's ability to talk about relationship difficulties he's obviously too young to truly know. Props - the kid's got a bright, bright future.

He is kinda young for relationship troubles. You're 15 it's MOB at that age go have fun. Anyways he sounds mature in his music and sounds older than he is. I dig it.

He should name his mixtape "HeirBorn" haha think about it...this ok, nothing special though. Far from the second coming of DMC, but he has lots of time to evolve and all the resources in the world. 2.5 stars

this aint bad at all....people are quick to judge the kid by his name instead of by his talent...he has a real calm and relaxed tone and flow that you actually wouldnt expect for someone his age. I could hear this on the radio...definitely.
