Besides growing up in a mansion, playing basketball on your own private court and trips around the world, the life of a celebrity child is rough, especially if they want to follow in their famous parent’s footsteps. Seriously. Just take DJBooth debut rapper Diggy Simmons, otherwise known as Daniel Simmons, the 15-year-old son of legendary Run DMC founder Rev Run and his new track Come to Rock (Freestyle). For Come to Rock producer Snake Eyes essentially just uses Led Zeppelin’s classic hard rock cut Immigrant Song as the stage to shine the spotlight on Diggy’s rhyme skills, and the young emcee responds with a precise and often spitfire fast flow. So how about it Booth nation? Does Come to Rock prove Diggy’s signing to Atlantic was warranted, or is he simply riding his famous father’s coattails? While Diggy doesn’t have a debut project locked down yet, I’ve got a feeling they’ll be no shortage of new material for us to debate in the coming months. Keep it locked.

Its taken months for me to ride with this cat. I just couldn't take him seriously enough... until now. Regardless of his age or his father, the kid can spit. I don't know who he will appeal to with these rhymes - kids won't buy and adults won't believe it - but we shall see.

After hearing Diggy's freestyle over "Made You Look," I knew this kid was gonna be fresh. The flow on that is sick, regardless of who he is. Glad to hear him follow up with another banger with this track. Diggy got swag, face it!

I always thought he was annoying on Run's House, but then I heard Made You Look a few days ago, and he went off on that
He is the future, and the good thing is that people will listen to his music because his dad is Rev Run, so maybe this will turn hip hop around Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Jojo |

Crazy flow! The hook was a little corny but he flowed so fast, I got over it. Who cares if he's still a kid or Rev Run is his dad. If you can rap, especially as good as he is, everything else goes out the window and the music is all that matters.

i'm sorry maybe age is a factor in his case he is so young...but his fans are def. a few young female girls...got punch lines are the hook is cool....he just to young for me, sorry diggy ill check you out when you a little bit older maybe around 17...

I've been riding with Diggy since his First Flight mixtape. His Made You Look-Flow Stoopid freestyle was dope. "Yall know I was born in Queens, so Nas gave me the clearance". People have been making JoJo comparisons from the beginning. Poor guy. I'm looking forward to seeing where Diggy will go.

Like a lot of folks, I was pessimistic about Diggy, but on this one I have to give him his due. There's about a 7% chance he writes his own rhymes, but you can't fake a flow like this. Ki'ds got undeniable talent. I'm sold.

I'm with @Nathan. He has a good speedy delivery that’s accessible, can rhyme fast while still being understood. He off to a great start with this right here.
The frenetic energy in beat is DOPE! and get your head bouncing while enjoying some fire lyrics (whoever wrote them), and Diggy shows no problem riding it with a confident delivery. Need more! |

This was actually a good song. I loved the mixtures of songs for the instrumental. I have never heard of Diggy Simmons but this song surprised me I will defiantly be on the look out for his songs
