Diddy-Dirty Money - Someone to Love Me (Naked)
Artist: Diddy-Dirty Money
Featuring: Mary J. Blige , Lil Wayne
Producer: Jerry “Wonder” Duplessis and Arden "Keyz" Altino
Album: None
Label: Bad Boy/Interscope
Judge him for his questionable handling of (others’) finances, or the fact that he has an arsenal of ghostwriters on deck for every syllable he spits, but one thing you cannot deny about Diddy is that he won’t stop and he can’t stop (yeah, yeah). After decent sales of his Diddy-Dirty Money effort Last Train to Paris, Mr. Combs decided to release Someone to Love Me (Naked) with Mary J. Blige on the hook and adding two verses of her own, ultimately making this her track now. No, it’s not up to the exacting standards we expect from the Queen, but for the simple groove it is, it gets the job done. Jerry Wonder and Arden “Keys” Altino leave the original track untouched, keeping The Sweet Inspirations sample, but a nice surprise factor is the inclusion of Lil Wayne, who spits that clever wordplay we never got the chance to miss while he was locked up.
Update: Since its original release, Someone to Love Me has been selected as the lead single off MJB’s tenth album, My Life II: The Journey Continues, scheduled to drop September 28.

Its rare these days that a remix, a new mix, or - in this case - a "MJB Naked Mix" is better than the original version. Well, that happened here. Kudos, Mary.

Getting just about any artist to spit over this amazing beat would have been an instant upgrade from the Diddy original. In this case Wayne was a good choice, but hell the beat is so damn good that even Diddy sounded half decent on it. Glad they didn't tweak it, and MJB came out of hibernation and ripped it.

Now THIS is dope. Weezy's verse and Mary's vocals are as smooth as ever.

Any Diddy song with a smaller dose of Diddy is a good thing. Wayne sounded at home over the beat and who can complain about MJB? I still don't think it was better than just rotation though.

Yo, MJB sounds hoooooooorrrrribleee on that hook! I cant believe they thought that was O.K. I get so annoyed everytime the hook comes back around. I will never listen to this remix again. SMH

Where was the MJB feature on the actual album? Oh well, better late than never I guess. Take Diddy off, make this a Mary and Weezy collab - has that ever happened before? - and you're really talking.

I didn't listen to my copy of Last train yet, so this is the first time I am hearing this on any level. The Beat is very different. Wasn't feeling it much at first, but Mary delivers a cool melody on here. Diddy was pretty good too actually. Wayne's wordplay was cool on here. With all the positives, I still may only play this track once or twice again, but I'm not compelled to throw it on the MP3 player at this time... Rotation track.

I like the melody in this track. Mary gives this remix a souldful vibe. But I would subtract Diddy and put Mos or Common on it.

Wow.... Having these ppl together couldnt get any better... Wow. Mary J really sounds great on this. Some may say it sounds annoying, but that just means you dont know what music is. She sounds great. Its so catchy. And Diddy really did a good job on his opening verse. Omg and then Lil Wayne came on and he straight murderd his verse. Im gonna be listening to this for a very long time.

@Nathan S.: Has there ever been a diddy/weezy collab before either? No. Just adds to the popular attention this track is getting.
Really enjoyed the song in whole. Weezy's best verse since getting out. Whoever ghostwrote for diddy this time did an alright job. ;) I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be playing this song for awhile. |

Diddy needs to either stop rapping or change his style, it's getting bored. The first part of his rap was almost convincing, then he went back to his "Dirty Money" Style. everyone else was good.

Whoa!...Im not a fan of Puffy but I am a fan of MJB and this song...DAMN! who ever ghost wrote for Puffy must've been inspired by good 90's music cus thats what his verse takes me back I don't know why! But respect for this track and the addition to Wayne completes it nicely as a Remix! Dope

I was impressed with the normal version in the album, but in relation towards this remix, man i am not 2 sure on it... Decent, but not as good... Mary J spoiled it for me... Wayne was a good man to bring on the remix.
