Since his first single, Ain’t Gon’ Let Up, started the steel-drum production trend over two years ago, rapper DG Yola has waited patiently to release his debut album. Unfortunately, none of the Atlanta native’s other buzz singles caught on at radio and his debut, Return of the Truth, never made it off of Atlantic’s big backburner. Regardless, Yola’s perseverance has allowed for a new opportunity with a new label. On his best shot (no pun intended) at a hit record to date, Da Great One follows one simple relationship rule: if She Like It, then he loves it. On-the-rise producer and fellow ATLien Midnight Black takes an out-of-this-world turn with the beat, but hey, how else can you get a girl in your spaceship? She Like It is the first single from Return of the Truth, currently slated for a December release.
Really smooth and nice chorus. I was not expeting this type of song from DG, but its definetly going to appeal to radio and may get him some hype for an album. Chorus is the strong point of this song, but I really like DG's flow and approach on here. Smooth late-summer track right here, nice.
I am digging DG's vibe on all his tracks. I am expecting a great album from him. He has a distinct raspy voice that isn't too annoying. Midnight came hard on the Beat. This is a solid 3.5 right here.
I love how that production works itself into a groove. This song is on fire. I got that feelin of "Throw some D's on it" when listening to the 4 the first time. I'm gettin this track.
It seems that DG Yola did a part two. Hate to break it to you guys, but this is an Alternate Version. The original version was released on the same year alongside "Ain't Gon' Let Up" - the chorus was something similar to this version, but it had guest raps from Layzie Bone and Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Because this is a remake, I am not going to rate it.
dg know how to make catchy songs but still hood! the beat hot and who care if he used a verse from his previous song rollin feat bone thugz it fits the song and the label @*#$! him over so he mite as well get a hot verse some exposure!
i like this song it is a bit of a twist from the traditional dirty south slow slow song. and its got the voicebox which is getting annoying but it sounds good. usually t-pain is the only one that sounds good with it., oh and kanye(haha)
I'm nearly angry for this song...the production is really good, it could have become one of my new fav songs...pity that I can't listen to him! I can't understand what his voice sounds like as it's covered by the computer, but the final result is horrible to my ears. When they listen to the final song can't they hear that what they've done is awful? Such a beautiful production should have been used better
Again im with cb126405, the chorus is the strong point of this one, he flows nice and everything, but that chorus is just the kind you could make a whole song out of and never get tired of it LOL, i'll listen to it again, beat is BANGINN!
i love dis song its a classic. He really came up with a banger dis time... i love his voice.....DG Yola is the most under rated rapper out here....i cant wait until his album drops
this song is straight fire.midnight black is one of the most innovative producers in the game right now "louie","whos hotter than me","crazyworld",Slim of 112 "Addicted",and now D>G>Yola "She like it" all bangers im thirsty for more.Yola you wit the right producer if not the best in the world
