After 15 years and four albums, Devin the Dude recently decided to part ways with his longtime home at Rap-A-Lot Records and to take his career to new heights (pun intended). Not very long after the split, everyone’s favorite oddball herb aficionado latched on with Warner distribution by inking a brand-new deal with Razor & Tie to distribute his fifth studio album, Landing Gear. On the album’s first single, the Houston emcee tells the tale of a night when his smoking and drinking got the best of him; after one too many blunts and Patron shots, he says I Can’t Make It Home. For more stories of high and wasted nights, clear your album deck for Landing Gear, scheduled to arrive on October 7.
This is my track right here. I been listening to this one all week. The hook is extremely catchy, I found myself singing this is the shower. lol Devin's story had me rolling. It's amazing how he can take such serious production and melody and make a song that's funny. This Bangs and then some.
One of the most underrated, and in some parts of the country unknown, rappers on the face of the Earth. Devin is that dude- pun intended. Great relaxing joint, with or w/o a joint in hand, and makes for a nice kickoff for Landing Gear. Check for Devin INSIDE THE BOOTH in October...
Finally a good hook..last week seems like the title of a song was also the chorus, with nothing else in between...so its nice to finally hearing something more creative...lovin this chill beat and devin def a good story teller.
Never heard of this guy,
and i sure didn't expect his vocal capability to sound like this, crazy! lol
I might check him out later on,
I'm not really into songs about joints and stuff though,
I'll leave that to Bob Marley LOL!
Devin is very talented he sings, raps and makes beats occasionally, he does his thang on this one, nice story and humor on this one also a catchy hook to smoke too over a smooth beat.
