Detail - Tattoo Foreva
Artist: Detail
Featuring: T-Pain , Lil Wayne , Travis "Travie" McCoy
Producer: Detail
Album: TBD
Label: KrazyBox/Universal Republic
For someone who has recently risen from relative obscurity, producer/emcee double-major Detail has brought along some hip-hop heavyweights for his first Booth feature, Tattoo Foreva, featuring T-Wayne (the two-headed T-Pain/Lil Wayne monster), and Travie McCoy, who has recently been blowing up radio with his new single Billionaire. Detail does a decent job with his rhymes, spending quite a bit of his verse referencing Angelina Jolie (and her tattoos, of course), while T-Wayne playfully deliver no more or less than what you’d expect from the mutually-destructive duo. You might get so caught up in the bouncy, guitar-driven production that you miss Travie’s ten-second-long verse but, all things considered, Tattoo should fulfill its intended purpose of getting the public buzzing about Detail. The question remains, though: is this cut an auto-tuned mess, or is it auto-tuned brilliance? You decide. Tattoo will be featured on Detail’s forthcoming album, which currently has no release date. Keep it locked to the Booth for updates.

Tattoos are definitely on the rise - or at least that's the perception these days - so thematically this song works and plays to an everygrowing audience. However, though it is undoubtedly catchy its also pretty corny.
Detail isn't terrible, but I suggest (in the most respectful manner) that he stick behind the board. |

Got some heavy-weights on this track. Not a fan of detail really at all though, enjoy travis alot on this track though. If I skip through detail, it's a rotation track.

i like the guiter touch too this beat and the synth with the drums is pretty nice to.
flow is light and fun example this- "billy bob so a few,so she got some more" haha wow he really set this song up for criticism using heavy autotune in the chorus so dj-z like u said on aleons page, this song is definitly about taste, and i dig. lil wayne was in here??? this is definitly more suited for travis mcoy as a guest verse contributer but lil wayne gave a nice verse too and didnt sound out of place nice i see T-pain back to rapping but i think hed have contributed better on the chorus unless this track was looking for a more shallow soulfully played corny type chorus. i digg so i give it 4 stars and major play on my mp3 |

I wouldn't say tattoos are on the rise, just look at 50 cent lol. I love everything about this song except that hook. It just doesn't sound good. It's a shame too because this could have been huge.

For the line up on this song, I was extremly dissapointed. I expected much more even if it was a Detail record. He's not necessarily good at anything besides producing. All together, just dissapointing.

Solid production and features but, ironically, the lead artist is what holds the whole track back. Detail's highly auto-tuned verse and chorus just aren't doing it for me. It's a solid track but it's not quite in rotation for me. It's ok.

I just realized T Pain sounds exactly like B.o.B when hes rapping hahahhaha, i thought it was funny
Ive never heard of this guy, its catchy, first verse was bad, Wayne was kind of whack, i thought Pain flowed nicely over this beat, 2.5 |

Not digging the odd auto-tuned/high pitched voice at the beginning. Production is pretty good, has the summer feel to it with the guitar and drums.
O god that damn voice goes throughout the entire song? Damn. How did I know a tramp-stamp reference would make an appearance some where in this song. I really can't get past that damn voice on the chorus, just killing it for me. Ok, I'll say it, Pain went in harder than Weezy. Sounded like Mr Carter phoned that one in while Faheem at least had some effort in his voice. Travis McCoy lends a decent verse to this one but nothing outstanding either. If it was not for the auto-tuned voice I would have probably enjoyed this track so much more. It has a lot of potential and that voice just takes too much attention away from what is really going on. I would love to hear the song without that damn thing on it. Just because Luda pulled something like that off doesn't mean others should! |

I couldn't listen to the whole song because the auto-tune just didn't work into this song for me. The beat was good though, I really liked the drums and guitar and the lyrics were alright. I would have given this a higher rating, but the auto-tune just didn't work!

The beat puts me in a happy mood, unfortunately I don't plan on playing this again. That voice or hook or whatever the @*#$! you wanna call it is so annoying.
Wayne does okay, but T-Pain steals the show out of that duo. Travis McCoy where were you in this song? Maybe I got you confused for Detail. Whatever the case, not that great. |

I actually quite like this song, the hook (drenched in auto-tune) was a little annoying though.
Wezzy's verse would of been better if he came with a bit more energy, he was overshadowed by T-Pain imo. Travis's verse was ok, though very short. It would of been better if T-Pain & Weezy both got 16 bars instead of having three rappers spitting 3 short verses (which seemed pointless). Production is nice, its got a real positive vibe to it. Detail has a future behind the boards if he can keep making beats like this |

Don't really get why you'd enlist the help of both Weezy & T-Pain and still feel the need to be auto-tuned up? Guess he had to make up for the fact they did'nt use it. Other than that, an enjoyable track !

Ok wat happened to the T-Wayne album..i know Lil Wayne is in jail and T-pain is a freaknik but he really they promised a long as time ago.
but i digress, Detail failed and succeeded on this joint. His guittar driven production was was really entertaining., but his flow was really simple and bland and he could have just let T-Wayne monster take over and even givin McCoy more time. "she got eyes by her @*#$! so when i go down shes always looking" haha..Lil Wayne is one wierd ass dude but it was exactly what i expected from him and he delivered as per usual. T Pain was a bit off with the Autotune Hook. the hook kinda annoyed me but i did enjoy his verse and he could be a rapper if he wanted. he really can Rap and Sing Travis was well ..i dint really hear much him and i listened to this a couple of times. he reaaly did have like 5 seconds. SMH all in all its in rotation and nothin more |

I'd almost not even regard this as hip hop. It's definitely not a track worthy of T-wayne but they made the song worth listening to never the less. As for the auto-tune, that should be for the exclusive use of T-pain.

I thought it was head in the right direction in the beginning but the artist is the one who killed the track, and not in a good way.

detail was alright, i dont mind the autotune but he used too much. moderation is alright but he went overboard. t-wayne were better than i expected, tpain has been getting gradually better recently whereas weezy seems to be in a stage of confusion- he doesnt know what he is doing, rap or rock... travis for his very brief verse was good but its hard to judge on such a small part. the production was really catchy. definitely a banger for me!

I hate this song and its only one word and i tottaly agree with D.O.A (Death Of Autotune) if you gotta use autotune dont sing. Also lil wayne isa bumm every artist needs to get him off there trackk .And even tho t-pain uses auto tune i like it he is the inventer of atune.

This reminded me immediately of Jesse's Scott's "Hey You," which is another recent post from the Booth. The simple guitar chord progression stirs up the same airy summer feel. I do like "Hey you" more, despite the lack of big names. I'd recommend that instead.
Besides that, it seems that pretty much everything's been said, but plus 2 for the beat, minus three for somewhat lame subject matter and mostly weak verses. Skip it. |

Just what we needed, a Jesse James theme song.
I really liked the production and vibe of the song, but I can't stand the theme. I don't mind using Auto-Tune in this song, but they really need to turn down the retune speed, because it is annoying at this speed. |

Back to the autotune?! I don't know what Detail was thinking on this...The only thing worth listening to on this track is what I'm most surprised at which is no autotune for Wayne or Pain...they actually are what really made this track not a total disaster. Travis wasn't bad either though. The hook plus autotune just meant disaster for me.

The beat is pretty dope. Details verse sucks. TOO MUCH AUTOTUNE on the hook & I like autotune.
Wayne spat one of his retardest (is that a word) verses I've heard from him...and that takes a lot. Pain does his damn thing tho. Travie does allright also, maybe him and Pain should re-do this with just them! DUECE |

Don't doubt the power of autotune people! This has potential. Play this at a beach party is all I got to say. All the verses were good. Beat was solid. Chorus was... Good.

How did y'all managed to sit through Detail's part??? He murders the joint, and I mean that in a possible worst way.
He must have set out to make the absolute unpleasant auto-tuned vocals. Worse than Ron Browz, must I say more? |

This track just makes me freakin mad, Autotune ruining a great production. This is the type of production Rebirth should have featured. Someone remix this quick please. 5 star production, 1 star everything else.

This works for me. The guest verses make up for detail and honestly he was pretty decent. T-Wayne made it for me and McCoy made it a jam.
The production on this one is amazing it just keeps me interested the whole song through. |
