Dean and Ravo - Walkin Around
Artist: Dean and Ravo
Producer: APSuperProducer
Album: A to B
Label: Unsigned
Though cruising for chicks typically involves the use of a vehicle, there is something to be said for just Walkin’ Around; not only are you able to sidestep the problem of city traffic, but you can ogle to your heart’s content without keeping one eye on the road. Booth newcomers Dean and Ravo clearly know what I’m talking about. The Harlem natives’ current single finds them enjoying the simple pleasure of a leisurely (and lecherous) stroll; backed by APSuperProducer‘s adeptly-flipped sample work (drawn from my favorite Daft Punk tune, Digital Love), the twosome size up the females in their neighborhood, taking care not to blow their cover: “There she go, there she go, and she don’t even know that she modelin’ for me, cause I keep it on the low.” Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and eventually they get spotted – may I recommend rocking shades next time? An ode to traveling à pied that’s anything but pedestrian, this catchy cut is just one of many to be found on Dean and Ravo’s A to B mixtape, scheduled to hit the ‘net February 28.

I can picture "Walkin Around" playing in the background of the opening credits to a new coming of age television show. Too much coffee? Maybe, haha. Nice introduction from Dean and Ravo. The verses could use some work, but that doesn't take away from the super production and chorus.

If I'm on my super honest ish I'd have to agree with Z, the verses feel a little off. Otherwise, from the hok to the fresh beat (check the walking bass line) this is the definition of a breath of fresh air. Let's definitely hear some more from these guys.

Walkin' Around is a great first single of the A to B project. Dean's modern style of poetic rap combined with Ravo's classic sound that sends you to the era of The Rat Pack, blends perfectly into a new genre: hip pop. The second release, "End of the Week," is not to be ignored. Having had an exclusive listen to the rest of this project, as well as future releases, I can assure the music industry, this act is going to be everywhere you look, sooner than later.

Catchy groove, this could be a new dance style called "walking around". Maybe someone will create new dance steps to go with this.

The craftiness of this song is undeniable. Not the best verses, but I think the major emphasis of this song was the beat and chorus. I want to hear more from these guys immediately.
