Dean and Ravo‘s first Booth feature, released back in January, found the up-and-coming duo Walkin’ Around their city, ogling all the pretty girls from behind their shades. If you were feeling that selection, then you’re in for a treat; on newly-released single Follow Me, the Harlem duo invite you to accompany them on their latest stroll. This time around, they’re not looking for a voyeuristic thrill but rather a companion on the winding roads of life. Backed by the leisurely acoustic guitar/synth grooves of Jacob Entel, the crew address a chick who makes them feel as if they could conquer the whole damn world. Setting aside the perfunctory wag-of-the-finger at gold-digging shawtys, Dean and Ravo pack their sung, rapped, and sung/rapped verses with enough bright-eyed positivity to put a grin on even the most cynical listener’s face – and if their bars don’t do the trick, guest crooner Josh Cocktail‘s soulfully unexpected Summer Girls-inspired bridge should get you to crack a smile. Details on the album that will feature Follow Me have yet to be announced, but those who like what they’re hearing can click here to check out a live, unplugged rendition of the single.

Nice pop record I'd have no problem understanding this getting rotation on blogs and playlists. This is a quality record and they GET the use of melody.

Definitely catchy pop. I think the production could be better. Mixing acoustic instruments with programmed or electric drums and keyboard can be a challenge, so that it doesn't sound too "live", or too "produced". This track could be better on the production side, but great song, by these two.

The hook is the most enjoyable part of the record, but overall is sneaky good hip pop music. These guys are two-for-two in our Booth.

I believe if you believe it, we can believe anything
If I can see it, you can see it, we can go do anything Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me Follow me, you could follow me, you could follow me I'm the kind to feel like people do it all And the world is within our reach My life is in the moonlight, and the headlights racing down the beach It's not another story, about how we felt that day But just how we remember, all we took away, that day It's still with me today, today And home's no far away, no way Follow me this way, this way, this way Complete lyrics for "Follow Me" http://www.sweetslyrics.com/865646.Dean and Ravo - Follow Me.html |
