With spring in full swing, there’s no better time to start that exercise regimen! If you’ve been putting off getting in shape for lack of an appropriately energetic, yet still cerebral hip-hop soundtrack for your morning jog, you’ll be happy to hear that alt-rap icons De La Soul have partnered with Nike for the latest installment of Original Run, a series of mixes specifically designed to match the pace of your average workout. Newly-released cut Big Mouf, for example, sounds like it’s meant to be played just as you’re beginning to break a sweat. The syncopated percussion and occasional sampled flourishes that back Supa Big Dave’s beat convey a feeling of mounting energy as Posdnuos, Trugoy, and Maseo spit engaging verses sure to occupy listeners’ minds as they begin to feel the burn. Good hip-hop first and workout music second, this bracing cut is an enjoyable listen even if you’re sitting still (I’m not running as I type this, after all). Even so, those looking to lose a few pounds can find plenty of motivation in Are You In? (out now on iTunes).

Heard this the other day and I gotta say it's great to have De La Soul back! They were one of my favorites growing up and I can still dig their music today. This is vintage DLS right here, I'm glad they stuck to their formula.

really im not feelin a darn thing about this song. and i'd like 2 put 1 start but i dont really feel like hearin backlash. but wtf is this? de la soul been out for a while yeah, but.. how? im not sure. i dont like they flow and that beat sounds like trash.

YEAH!!! So glad to see this cats back, they are like my fav group of all time. Their flows are vintage De La. The production is a little wierd wit that percussion, but I like the sample used. Ready to hear more from them, hope there's an album comin!

The percussion is strange and this wouldnt really help me in my workout..just not me. The lyrics are alright but the production is too weird for me.

I'm not feeling this production at all and I'm not sure it would do it for me when I'm lifting or running. I don't really even remember what the song was about. The percussion is too distracting.

I was dumb excited to listen to this when i saw De La Soul was featured...but as soon as i pressed played, the excitement vanished...
i wasnt really feeling the beat nor the flow in the beginning but to be honest after listening to it 2 or 3 more times i began to dig it (well at least the insturmentals) the flow i'm still iffy about...2.5 stars |

i heard this song while i was biting into a duchess cheeseburger. though i was slightly offended, i thoroughly enjoyed my freshly broiled burger. it had just the right amount of lettuce to soothe my needs. the tomato was delightful as well. the cheese seemed to hit the spot though the highlight of the meal had to be the bun. isn't this usually the case? the bread really makes or breaks tha food we put in our mouf. anyway... been down w/ de la since de 1...they continue 2 bring consistency...luv it!

Initially I thought the beat was off, but after the listening, the sample made it bang for me. I'm bias toward the traditional sound in hip hop. This was hot to me. Lyrics..were on point on usual...it's De La.
