Day26 - Stadium Music (Flashing Lights)
Artist: Day26
Producer: Bryan Michael Cox
Album: Untitled Sophomore Album
Label: Atlantic Records
It’s pop quiz time: What do O-Town, Da Band, and Danity Kane have in common? If your answer was “they were all formed by Making the Band,” you’re only half-correct; as of late this past January, all three groups have officially disbanded. Hoping to buck that trend and achieve continued success, MTB4‘s Day26 are hard at work on their currently-untitled sophomore album, and the promotional push for their first single is already underway. Stadium Music (Flashing Lights) sees William, Brian, Robert, Que, and Michael spitting game to some ladies they’re hoping to take home for the night. Produced by R&B veteran Bryan-Michael Cox, Stadium Music is the theme for the latest season of MTB4, as well as the lead single off the aforementioned sophomore album, due out April 14th.

The production goes hard. I like this. This is the first Day26 song that has actually captured and kept my attention. Decent. Rotation.

Their First album was SICK!!! I can't wait for their new album. They can ALL sing! They are the hottest group out right now. The production is sick; and they are smooth on the track. BANGER STATUS!

Call me crazy (seriously, e-mail me if you have a problem with what I am about to say), but I have yet to hear a Day26 single that I didn't find enjoyable.
Everyone is worried about whether or not this group will see the same fate as the reality star made bands before them, but have no fear! The difference between these fellas and the rest of those acts? Talent. Oh... and Bryan Michael Cox = a hit record. |

Nice track right here. After I heard the Day 26 cd, I felt they were the best out of the reality groups. The problem is that Puff made it harder for the group to have success by not putting Donnie in the group. It hard for a r&b group to have cross over appeal.
As for the song this is a banger. Digging the rock feel to the track. |

Yea I liked their debut album as well. I was surprised how well together it was placed. This song is strong production wise, but it doesn't blow me away.

There's talent all over the song as far as vocals and production go, but there's something about Day26's singles that, as a fan, I find really worrying cuz they almost always sound experimental (Got me going, Come in, In my Bed...) and the melody is not that catchy. It’s a gift and a curse: they never sound like something you heard before and prove fresh talent, but at the same time end up being harder to appreciate (see sponge). Well me, I’m not lazy… ;)
How many R&B/Rock mash-ups are there?! |

PS: It's ironic that the only song Day26 got a “banger” rating on djbooth was the clichéd “Since you been gone”… that just proves my point.
And I thought it’s their least interesting song featured on the site. |

i think it sounds good, but i really think there is room for improvement. jus a couple very minor things would have made it a huge hit for me.

I agree with mathu. I never paid these guys any attention ever since Eden's Crush "Love This Way"- the first reality group to be assembled and to break up - I've been leary of reality show groups b/c they hype you up to follow their story and you laugh and cry with them and feel thier music deep in your soul, just for the inevitable dissaster that has been every reality band since.
Nevertheless, this track is hot and I think I need to give these guys a chance. Great vocals on the track and the production is fire. I hope they can withstand the reality band curse. |

This is definitely a step up from their previous work. As much as I love the first CD they had, there really weren't any certified bangers on there. However, I feel this new CD might change that. Looking forward to them showing their range in music.
Hopefully they can shatter the MTB Curse into a million pieces. P.S. Love the rock-r&b mashup. Perfect. |
