As our own M. Burmy noted in his review of Day26‘s last Booth feature, Stadium Music, the R&B five-piece are the only Making the Band group still intact—Danity Kane, O-Town, and Da Band have all gone their separate ways. As it turns out, Stadium Music was only a promotional cut, and Day26 were holding out for a record that would truly capture the public’s attention (and provide insurance against the fate that befell the aforementioned groups). The official Forever in a Day lead single finds Robert, Brian, Willie, Que, and Michael letting a special lady know just what they have planned: Imma Put It On You. Adding crossover appeal, verses by two big-name rappers bookend the cut; Yung Joc mixes it up “like juice and liqueur” in his opening verse, while MTB mentor Diddy contributes a few high-rolling come-ons on the back end. The dense instrumental by Blaze The Champ (featuring some dramatic pipe organ chords), along with the star-studded cast of collaborators, add up to a cut that’ll have listeners everywhere rushing to cop the digital download on the 31st, as well as the group’s sophomore album April 14th.

I'm not feeling this at all. Too generic for me. Day 26 is capable of doing better.

THIS BEAT IS STRAIGHT CRACK! Day 26 is the $HIT right now! I am not a big fan of Yung Joc, but he sounds fresh on here. Day 26 is the MOST vocally talented dudes in the game right now and they deliver effortlessly on this track. Diddy was aaaiiiight...BANGER STATUS!

This is a tight track. I have heard of Day 26 for a while, but never really lstened to one of their songs. This sounds good right here. The production was great and and the two rap verses were pretty good as well. I liked the vocals by Day 26, too. They definitely have talent and I am looking forward to hearing more.

Blaze the Champ (?) definitely did his thing with the production. Joc came through also. But yeah, Day 26 can really make a name wit this new album. I'm expecting big things, this is a really solid start.

I liked Stadium Music more, but this is a solid radio/club job. I would have preferred they leave Joc and Diddy at home, but welcome to the corporate-side of this industry, baby.

I actually think this is exactly the opposite of generic. Day26's entire sound is always so experimental that, although fresh, it might sometimes not be that pleasing... and this is simply not catchy (melody and background music).
Love the percussion and their vocals (Robert!!), that's all. Not a good single at all for me :s This might grow on me but that's not what a single is supposed to do, it should instantly grab you. |

Since when did an artist willingly put Diddy on their track? I like the background music and the melody as two seperate entities. The problem is when they're put together, it just doesn't quite fit. Still, gotta give them their props on this one. I'll put this one on Banger status. I'm feelin generous tonight.

The lyrics arent out of the world and it doesnt have to be because the production is fire! Day26 bring the smooth vocals and the percussion in the background create a catchy beat. Yung Joc was alright but the highlight is Day26 and the production! Banger!

The production was sweat the vocals of Day26 were good & Yung Joc was pretty good as well. I think Diddy is only on the track to get some publicity for the song, though he did alright

Great beat. I don't think Joc's voice/flow matches over it so that kind of brings it down... while Day 26 did a solid job ... but hook aint catchy enuff for me ... Diddy did Diddy ... haha ... i'll wait for their next joint ... while dis goes in-rotation ...

Real generic song. So you have 5 dudes who can obviously sing a bit and Diddy still needs to incorporate his stupid voice on the song, just so he can get some of that publishing money. Most of all Bad Boy songs do NOT require him at all. So this one too. And don't come at me like Diddy is a business man, he's shady from head to toe!

The song would be better without Joc or Diddy. The intro sounded terrible. I was not a huge fan of the production, but the melody and vocals made the song. Willie killed it on the first verse. I couldn't help but love it after that. 4.5 stars.

Of course, diddy and joc had to snag part of Day 26's by adding their unnecessary BS to the track. |
