Every once in a while you’ll encounter a news story about an independent artist whose music was illegally jacked by a major player in the game. Kanye West, Dr. Dre and Eminem have all been taken to court for such alleged offenses. That wasn’t the case, however, when Miami rapper Pitbull came across a song entitled Go Girl by rapper David Rush. Loyal to his fellow craftsmen, Pit reached out to Young Boss (as he is also known) and together with Trina they collaborated on a new version of the song. Roughly a year later, they are back together again on Boss’ new, remixed song, Shootin’ Star. Emphatic synth rumbles and spacey sounds from producer AYB make Young Boss’s girl seem positively stellar. Look for more star-worthy performances on his forthcoming untitled LP, due out this year.
I like the production and the hook a lot. This is really smooth. I'm not familiar with any of David Rush's previous work, but this is decent. BDF44, I agree about the Will I AM style resemblance. I felt this song could of did without Pitbull. He just simply annoys me and brings song quality down in my opinion. I'll throw this in rotation. Good radio track as well.
This track needs work. If I can put myself in the management position for a second, I would take Pitbull out and replace him with Pharrell or Lupe. Pitbull is on the decline right now, he's gotta regroup. David Rush is pretty good though, he's got potential.
And one more thing..Y is everyone have to be a boss?! you aint a boss of ish man... "only thing u bossin is the teeth that you flossin'" yeah i said it
This track is weird...at the beginning I thought it was horrible, but I'm slowly changing my mind. It has a good beat and I like his flow, but some parts are boring! It's in rotation, not sure I'll listen to it again
