When a label achieves success with their current roster of artists, they tend to gradually pick up artists of others genres in an effort to “diversify their portfolio.” Following this pattern is Poe Boy Entertainment, who, after the success of Rick Ross and Flo Rida, has expanded its roster to include R&B singer David Lyn. On the trendy dance floor anthem, Take Control, Lyn talks about –what else?– being in a trance thanks to a lady. Thanks to label mate and collaborator, Flo Rida, who has achieved record-breaking marks in digital sales and ring tones, the newcomer’s jam gets an experienced pick-me-up. David Lyn’s self-titled debut is currently on Poe Boy’s waiting list, alongside Brisco’s debut, Street Medicine, and Triple C’sBlack Flag.
A) I'd like to think I could pull off that shirt with an equally cool pair of sunglasses. B) Lyn has some talent, but you never want to open shop with a hot feature. Because when you come with a solo record, it almost always fails to live up to expectations.
It seems as if you listen to the song long enough, it could possibly grow on you. I don't really care for it. The singing isn't great and the beat does nothing for me. Flo Rida did nothing amazing on the track either.
This boys gonna have to make some really catchy hooks to make up for his lack of talent...I just think his singing is much too mediocre to rely on...and Flo Rida=bad feature artist
Oh no! I am not really feeling this track at all. The beat is average and the singing is average. Flo Rida definitely does not save this one. I just think its below average.
