David Dallas - Make Up
Artist: David Dallas
Producer: Forty One
Album: Purple Tinted
Label: Dawn Raid Ent/Dirty Management/Duck Down Music, Inc.
Originally released stateside in late 2011, David Dallas’ debut set has received the full-on remix treatment courtesy of frequent collaborator Forty One. Newly-leaked standout cut Make Up finds the beatsmith serving up a smooth, sampled instrumental to back the Brooklyn-based, New Zealand-bred emcee as he looks back on past romantic regrets. PNC contributes guest rhymes. For more fresh re-imaginings of your favorite jams off The Rose Tint, check out Forty and Dallas’ Purple Tinted tape, released earlier this week and out now online.

The track gets a production make over and its just as fresh, fitting. Nothing seems forced for the purposes of remixing the record. I dig the laid back vibe.

Pretty fresh'n'fly production work - it got a lil too easygoing first but then, right after that thought had crossed my mind, the whole vibe kinda changed (3rd verse at 2:33).
I can't really say which part I like better, anyways, definitely a banger. |

Really tight production skills by Forty One. Sets a good stage for David Dallas and PNC. This is a good listen all the way through. Nice chorus too.
