As a result of the commercial success of his first four albums, his highly-publicized political activism following Hurricane Katrina, and his on-screen debut in the film Black Snake Moan, David Banner has quietly become one of the most recognizable rappers below the Mason-Dixon Line. He is ready to once again build up that resume with his upcoming album, The Greatest Story Ever Told, out July 15 on Universal Records. One of the confirmed tracks from the album is Hello, a self-produced, slow-moving affair characterized by its dirty south drums, sprinkled handclaps, and an oozing, high-pitched synth. Lyrically, Banner doesn’t try to forge any new paths, sticking to familiar rhymes about living the dream. He is assisted by Young Jeezy (well, sort of), whose heavily-articulated vocals on the hook give the track a real Southeastern feel.
This is pretty hot. Different kind of song from David Banner, and the chorus is good too. It's in summer rotation, its about time he gave us something new. "Get Like Me" has been out for over a year and the video is just now coming out.
Please! No more "Dey Know"! David Banner has the potential to release moving music. I don't understand why he always goes to the generic formula for tracks. His verses are way to short on this song and he's not spitting with his signature high energy.
This isn't a single, so don't be worried Banner has lost his energy, edge or lyricism. Banner has been forced to sit idle when his project has been thrown in 10 different directions the past 7 months. July it is supposed to drop... for everyone's sake, I hope it will, because he has some BANGERS!
The beat and chorus is sick!!!! But....Banner was damn near boring wit the verses. This would of been a classic if it was Jeezy's song. He would of ripped it a lot harder. If Banner keeps rappin like this, he is gonna get the same response as Swiss Beatz...STICK TO PRODUCING MAN!!!!
Okay da chorus repeats itself way 2 much. Honestly I was expecting dis one 2 be good, but guess not. Banner can do way betta. Dis one is pretty disappointing.
