Dave Coresh - Formal Introduction (Intro) [Premiere]
Artist: Dave Coresh
Producer: Rob Bates
Album: Formal Introduction Mixtape
Label: Unsigned
Booth readers, may I present Mr. Dave Coresh? Dave Coresh, may I present the DJBooth readership? Though the Windy City up-and-comer isn’t actually new to our pages (he brought us Keep It Movin back in September), I figure it’s been long enough to justify a Formal (re)Introduction. Now that we’re all acquainted with one another, we can get down to business. This newly-leaked mixtape title track/intro (making its world premiere here in the Booth!) finds Coresh doing, well, exactly as the title suggests; backed by producer Rob Bates’ triumphant, brass-piano-synth instrumental, the emcee gives us the condensed version of who he is (“Dave Coresh, I’m the man behind every word.) and what he’s all about (“...grade-A spittin’). FI‘s brisk, 2:30 running time will likely leave listeners craving more – which, of course, was exactly what was intended. Those who like what they’re hearing will simply have to check back with us this Thursday (the 11th), when Coresh’s new, RubyHornet/FakeShoreDrive/IllRoots/DJBooth.net-sponsored street album hits our front page for streaming and free download.

If the idea was simply an introduction, Coresh passes the test with flying colors. Considering I've had the chance to listen to his entire new project, I can safely say this is as accurate a representation of what he has in store of any musical display he has offered up to date.

Definitely a banger, this one almost blew my headphones out. I wasn't in love with his, but Dave's definitely one to look out for.

Beat sounds straight hip-hop, i know a couple of artist who would have killed this (including me), but this isn't bad just bad engineering...that screaming is annoying ass shit...stop that, we don't need none of that...calm that down...ok basically i heard most of his rhymes before...flow ain't all that...waste of a good beat...but that beat is fire, damn...producers stop giving your songs to wack ass rappers

When I wrote the blurb for Keep It Movin, to be honest I didn't know what to think about him...Now that I have a proper introduction...I'm glad to have him as a Booth regular! Power-heavy verses & beat (by Rob Bates) make a good underground banger. Hope he spits a freestyle for us sometime.

Haha...This is cool, the yelling is definitely unnecessary and he could work on his adlibs but overall its a good start.

Nice job on such a relentless flow - he keeps it going from beginning to end with such high energy.

This would be a crazy intro for a album. Dave has a lot of energy and he kept my attention all the way through. I didn't find him annoying at all but he could step up his lyrics a tab. The beat really makes this song as dope as it is but Dave still did his thing.

@Rolli: I couldn't think of a way to work the Branch Davidian connection into my blurb, but I thought it was funny/odd as well. Maybe he and Jim Jones could collaborate?
