Dao Jones - Japan
Featuring: The Incomparable Shakespeare
Producer: Dao Jones
Album: Cole King EP
Label: Unsigned
Anyone who’s traveled overseas knows that, as rewarding as the experience invariably is, the reality of an exotic locale never quite fits with the elaborate fantasies you’ve concocted beforehand. Not that there’s anything wrong with daydreams of jet-setting – especially when they’re as entertaining as the scenario described in Dao Jones’ final EP leak (another Booth-exclusive world premiere!). Admitting he’s never actually been to Japan, the NYC native proceeds to let his imagination run wild; over his own Far-Eastern samples, the artist paints a better-than-life lyrical portrait of a land where “Konichiwa, b*tches!” is a socially acceptable greeting and fly local women are all over you as soon as you step out the plane. On the middle, Booth regular The Incomparable Shakespeare indulges his sexual and professional fantasies, telling a Nipponese shawty that, though he has to catch a flight back home, she need only flip on MTV or BET to see him again. Complete with the freshest “What”-based chorus since Superthug, this joint should only get readers more amped for Dao’s Booth-sponsored Cole King EP, set to hit our mixtape page March 2.

Without a doubt my favorite premiere/leak from Dao to date. Nice chemistry between he and Shake and the vibe is super mellow. Also, its good to hear the Beastie Boys sample not ruined by Wayne throwing up on the record (what up, Jay?!).

Haha @ Z, I too am feeling the sample. I can definitely rock with this, real smooth vibe on the flow that you can't help but nod your head to. And while the hook may be simple and easy, it just works. This is feel good hip hop. Good look.

Mr. October has some lyrical gifts that are apparent on all of his tracks. The feature did well here and I love the production. For some reason I really wanted to give 3 stars but then Dao started rapping again. Sigh

Totally agree that this is my favorite from Dao so far. He's starting to show a lot of range, and I'm always a fan of Shake.

Dope track with the japanese whistle like thing in it makes more authentic. Sounds like some thing from the Kung-Fu movies. But his flow was definently tight.
