After collaborating on numerous tracks by fellow hometown rappers such as Trae & Rob G (most recently on his For The Hood), R&B singer Dallas (don’t let his name fool you-he’s from Houston) is looking to step out on his own. Like Rob G, he is signed to a joint deal with Latin and Universal Republic and also like Rob he just can’t seem to get an album released, starting with his upcoming debut Dallas Blocker. The new single describes (what else?) a woman Dallas sees passing by; judging from what he’s heard about her, she’s the type that makes all the Thugs Cry. No doubt the smooth vocals, accented by Beanz & Kornbread‘s soft beat, will definitely hit a soft spot with listeners of both genders, but will it be enough to get Dallas’ album on store shelves?
His voice reminds me of Debarge! Its a good smooth; grown and sexy sound for sure. I could see myself playing it from time to time when I'm just coolin out. I'll throw it in rotation; but he is going to need stronger tracks than this to get noticed and sell some records!
This song is pretty dope, but whoever mixed the vocals could've done way better. I'm disappointed. This song could've been a banger. Now I only put into rotation based on Dallas's vocal efforts.
His voice seems somewhat relaxing, he stays on beat really well on this track to, this aint to bad, seems kinda like one of those songs you listen to if your depressed lol.
I so would rather listen to a good or alright R n B track rather than an average rap track any day. However, this is not good enough to be the FIRST single from a NEW artist. Maybe this isn't. Hopefully.
