Earlier this week, West Coast hip-hop duo Dag Savage unleashed The Warning, the official mixtape prelude to their forthcoming studio album. Perhaps inspired by the film’s upcoming (totally unnecessary, in my humble opinion) remake, crewmates Johaz and Exile saw fit to include a track loosely inspired by RoboCop. And I do mean loosely. Though DAME MSK‘s non-work safe video contain a few minor allusions to the sci-fi/action classic, the record’s eerie production and risqué bars don’t bear a whole lot of resemblance to the flick I remember—unless there was a strip club scene I’m forgetting. Regardless, those in the mood for an unorthodox pole-dancer’s anthem won’t be disappointed. The Warning Tape is available for download now via TheDirtyScience. Keep your browsers locked for more fresh tunes leading up to the February 2, release of Dag Savage’s forthcoming full-length, E&J.
