Success is a double-edged sword – as emcee/producer D.Focis illustrates on the final leak off his Be Strong LP. Those who finally make it after years on the grind often find themselves looking back wistfully on their early days, wishing they could recapture the passion and drive they possessed In the Beginning. Dedicated to Booth-cosigned up-and-comer Donnis, the track finds Focis waxing nostalgic over his own dreamy, sampled boardwork, reminiscing about his humble, hungry beginnings and reflecting on how much his attitude has changed in the years since. On the back end, guest emcee The Mr harks back to the days he spent “listenin’ to LL, wishin’ that I could rap,” and goes on to describe the poverty-stricken environment in which he honed his skills. Fans can find this insightful, ear-pleasing jam as well as reader-acclaimed cuts Miracle and Forgiveness, on Be Strong, out now.  Be sure to tune in this Thursday, Sept. 17, for D.Focis’  exclusive interview with DJ Z!

D is THREE for THREE in the Booth. A record with a story, delivered introspectively, over self-produced board work. Talent is underrated these days, feel me?

@DJ Z - Make that 13 for 13 cos each and every track on "Be Strong LP" is nuthin but skillfully meaningful rhymes over soulful beats making for a number of excellent songs that are easy to get into and offer a lot in terms if lyrical positive content. I encourage my fellow DJBooth family to wake up and support this!

@DJBooth Crew - I may not say it always. But, I mean it whenever I say it. Thank You DJBooth.net cos in the midst of BP3, OB4CL2 and MOTM I found myself playing this.
