D.Focis - Miracle
Artist: D.Focis
Featuring: Bobby Creekwater
Producer: D. Focis
Album: The Be Strong LP
Label: Facemusic/BGOV
It’s a Miracle: D.Focis, producer of Donnis’ Over Do It (featured today) and Bobby Creekwater‘s Rainman, has been divinely transformed into a skilled emcee! Well, okay, that’s not exactly how it went down—as Focis explains in an FAQ video posted to his MySpace blog, he has always considered himself an artist; he’d just set down the mic temporarily to concentrate on producing. Now, he’s stepping back into the spotlight in hopes of inspiring his fellow musical dreamers, and his first feature as an artist suggests that he’s more than up to the challenge. Making its world premiere in the Booth, this album version of Miracle (a track that, to date, has only been available in music video form) finds the rapper/producer serving up a wistful, sampled-string beat as he calls on God to help him through the tough times. Topped off with some equally insightful guest bars by Bobby Creek, this positive-minded track is sure to meet a warm reception from our resident lyrical heads. Those who like what they hear can find more hot beats and uplifting rhymes on Be Strong, out Sept. 1.

D.Focis (a name I'm not too familiar with but dats gonna change soon) crafts a nice! beat that allows him and Bobby to drop some quality lyrics which effortlessly seams into a bit too wordy hook but its all good stuff ... 3.5

D. Focis has something to say, and I'm listening. Bobby does as well, and their styles blended well together. This is a song where all the pieces seem to fit. I enjoyed this thoroughly.

This reminds me of Hip hop's golden age, where talent was measured in lyrical intelligence and a smooth production to support it, sadly this is not the case in these times, fortunatley this track is the exception
