D. Woods - Lady in the Street
Artist: D. Woods
Producer: Meco
Album: Lady in the Street Mixtape
Label: Woodgrane Entertainment
Over the years, everyone from Usher to Luda to Pretty Ricky have have expressed their longing for a chick who’s “A Lady in the Street, and a freak in the bed.” Well, the search is over; on D. Woods’ latest mixtape single, the Danity Kane alum announces that is that woman – or she will be, for the right man. Accompanied by beatsmith Meco‘s swirling synth arpeggios, keyboard chords and handclap percussion, the Massachusetts-born singer shifts into full-on seductress mode, informing a guy she’s got her eye on that her well-mannered exterior is just a mask for the freak beneath: “Just wait until the lights go down, I have some things I wanna try, it’s goin’ down.” Needless to say, that’s an offer that few fellas would be able to refuse – but is the record itself as persuasive as the singer’s come-ons? I’ll leave that for the Booth’s resident R&B-heads to decide. If you like what you’re hearing, there’s plenty more where Lady in the Streets came from on Woods’ street album of the same name, available now online.

Throw a guest emcee on this record (the perfect choice would obviously be Ludacris) and you'd have a certified radio single. As is "Lady in the Street" is a middle of the road, R&B record. Regardless, I always wish the best to D.

This is an OK track, nothing too intriguing, but I can see this getting radio play. I'm not loving it, but I agree wit Z in that Luda would murk this and push it to rotation. As it stands, I won't listen again.

What record wouldn't be made better by a Luda verse? I have to say it's unanimous. This is a nice record, sounds Ciara-ish, but I don't think Woods particularly distinguishes herself here. I'd like to hear something with a little more personality.
Still a sexy ass record. |

This track is ok. The beat seems to overpower the vocals in this song to me. I think pretty much everybody would agree that a remix with Luda would definitely give this song at least a extra star if not two.
