If you’ve ever had a conversation about “industry politics,” chances are Curren$y‘s name has come up. Because neither No Limit nor Young Money were willing to get his project onto store shelves, New Orleans’ Hot Spitta has decided to release his long-awaited debut, This Ain’t No Mixtape, off his own label, Fly Society. On this newly-released record, Curren$y asks listeners whether they’re Scared Of Monsters, advising those whose answer is ‘yes’ to press stop, because, lyrically, he is one, as is the aptly-named Monsta Beatz on the production tip. Scared Of Monsters will no doubt end up on the playlists of fearless fans everywhere, from the Northeastern lyric-lovers to the Dirty Southern trunk-bangers. This Ain’t No Mixtape currently has no set release date, but listeners should keep it locked to DJBooth.net for further updates.

Man, CurrenSy has lost his touch since leaving Young Money...I do not like this at all. The flow is off and the production is mediocre.

This production is so odd. I am sure a lot of people are going to love it, but I do not. I thought Curren$y was real solid with his flow. Overall, though, it doesn't do as much for me as his past work has.

Average song. I think the album is going to be way better though cause I've heard some snippets and they sound good. Monsta beats will be producing the whole album. I think the album is coming out March 31.

I'm wit Z, the production is strange, but I can see its appeal. The concept and hook are interesting, but his flow left me kinda bored. He didn't really show how he's a monster, just kept repeating that he is one. Nothing special...

This is about the second time I am hearing the name Curren$y and he just doesn't say/spit anything that wants me to come back to listen for more. It is a pretty boring track, and it almost puts you to sleep. The chorus is pretty weak. Not feeling this at all...

Curren$y always stood out to me when he was on young money, but I just listen to songs that he was featured on with Lil wayne. I started listening to him now hes one of my favorite artist out there.
