Hip-hop has always been about telling a story, and Crooked I’s determined to let the world hear the intricacies of his life on the new cut My Story. A force on the west coast underground scene for years, Crooked I lays down his always gritty style over a relaxed yet thumping beat from producer Komplex, reminding listeners just how real the lines he spits really are: “My story ain’t a movie, it’s a documentary.” Joining Crooked on the mic are K-Young, One-2 and Ya Boy, who each tell their own tales of struggle and fight to overcomine the odds. My Story is the second leak off the Treacherous Records and New West affiliated mixtape Mick’s Tape, coming soon.

K YOUNG is one of my FAVORITE male singers of ALL TIME. and he has some BANGIN ass songs that NEED to make it to the booth. his label needs to send one of his bangers ASAP lol. (like "decieving" or "lay you down" or the track with Hot Dollar "remenicing" [look them up!!])
lol sorry. gotta back ma dude up, but besides him ya boy nd one-2 was pretty good. the 1st verse was a lil weak tho. production has its highlights. 3.5 stars, but im rating up bcuz of K YOUNG!

Solid track. I don’t even care about Ya Boy but he held it down proper, and like always Crooked I and One-2 came correct. All three delivers straight flows and above-average lyrics, thus the whole track flows really well together. And that hook and production will definitely please the streets and hoods ... 3.5

"at times I try to write and I cant get sh*t out like I was constipated/ been scarred by my memories/ no one really gives a damn/ still soul searchin' tryin to find who I really am/" - One-2

Great balance between the gritty verses and the slightly lighter production and hook. In all honesty I wasn't feeling Ya Boy's verse as much, a little too predictable, but Crooked, K-One and One-2 definitely come with it.

I have to listen to this song again to decide if I like it or not. For now I think it's smooth and flows are good

I've never been a HUGE fan of posse cuts, as someone always gets short changed. Believe it or not, this is actually a pretty equal display of talents. Crooked I usually steals the show when he is featured (see Slaughterhouse - ouch), but he shares the spotlight nicely here.

What up, Mick?
