From Michael Jackson to Vicente Fernandez, I was exposed to several different types of music throughout life. Honestly, I can’t recall what the first rap album I ever heard was, but I’d guess it was Dr. Dre’s The Chronic. I do, however, recall the first time I heard Country Rap Tunes. Not necessarily a specific song or album, but the sub-genre famously named by Chad Butler (R.I.P.). Fast forward over a decade and it seems Country Rap Tunes lives on as H-Town (pronounced H-Taaaaaaaaaawghn) rapper/producer Cory Mo drops Blow My Mind, the newest single from his upcoming project, appropriately titled Country Rap Tunes, dropping tomorrow (11/11/11). Self-produced by the headliner, Blow Yo Mind is a funky and soulful record complete with organs lurking in the background over which Cory, Pill and Khujo Goodie (of the legendary Goodie Mob) deliver a head-nodding track to jam while riding ‘round in your favorite slab. So push play and jam to this, whether you’re riding on the Beltway or in Harlem, and enjoy some Country Rap Tunes.

Production is nice. Sounds like an older West Coast type beat. The flow on the track from everyone is ok. I think it could have been better. Something is preventing me from wanting to play it again.
