The Ultimate is a song of epic proportions. With a dazzling instrumental by Precize, this track is the rap equivalent to a Nascar victory lap. Off industry tastemaker Johnny ShipesGOODTALK Vol. 9 ‘No Cosigns Needed’ mixtape, The Ultimate is a posse cut featuring sweet 16s from several big names. Let’s start with the chorus: Smoke DZA does the honors, serving up a motivational hook that builds the momentum for each emcee. Verse-wise, hot commodities Mickey Factz, Cory Gunz, and Curren$y all spazz on this one, showcasing why they were toted as the future of rap by XXL last year. The Hot Spitta (Curren$y) drops a particularly ill verse: “Hot Spitta’s that s**t/them ni**as got that Ferris Bueller flow/ they pretending they really ain’t sick.” After that lyrical melee, Booth newcomer Nakim closes out the track with a decent verse but honestly, they should have let Curren$y go last. Regardless of the order, The Ultimate lives up to its title, so if you’re feeling this one, make sure to download No Cosigns Needed when it drops in March.

This is a crazy line up. I wasn't really feeling DZA on the hook but it didn't ruin the song. Curren$y outshine everyone with the dopest punch lines. But Nakim should of just been left off. Not only does the song feel longer, he couldn't keep up with the rest. Precize's beat annoyed me a bit but still the song is nice.

This was a decent track, but I thought if it would have been tweaked a bit, it could be dope. It sounded like the vocals were a quieter volume or somethin. The beat was tight and I agree with Curren$y comin the hardest, but the hook had potential but ultimately wasn't great. Still in rotation though.

For the talent on this record I actually was a little disappointed. That, however, has more to do with my own expectations of some of these emcees and less to do with the final product here. The last verse sounds out of place and added at the last second. Could have done without it.

Not well thrown together...Gunz is one of the best rookies in the game but he's best kept up-tempto, and the beat was nothing special

Nothing special to report here, and to Cory: you do better when you go solo on a track.

Like nearly every large posse cut it could have used some editing, but overall it's worth the listen, even at over five minutes.

Curren$y kills this. Unanimous.

When I saw this song and the low ratings, I was ready to defend Cory Gunz against an army of haters. .. Then I heard the track. 'sok. Mickey facts and Gunz do well, Currency has a great flow. All to childish for me. Love to hear both Facts and Guns spit, and maybe that's all it is. Those two are spitters, not songwriters. all in all, the truth isn't hate. This track just isn't impressive.
