Those who follow Cory Gunz know the Bronx emcee’s a more-than-capable heir to his father’s throne—unfortunately, he remains the game’s (self-proclaimed) Best Kept Secret.  If there’s anyone who can help a talented yet tragically slept-on up-and-comer build buzz, though, it’s DJ Drama—now, the king of mixtape promotion’s teamed up with Gunz for the latest entry in his famous Gangsta Grillz series.  The first leak off the forthcoming mixtape finds Gunz teaming up with two fellow members of hip-hop’s new school to celebrate the dawning of A New Day. Aphilliates Music Group “Crown Prince” Willie The Kid is first up; over **UPDATE** DJ Khalil‘s hard-hitting blend of horror-movie strings and reverb-heavy percussion, he spits an entertaining opener, notably boasting of being, “one of the fewest new rappers that’s not weird.”  After Chi-town emcee Marvo (previously seen on Trel Mack‘s No Problem) spits his Midwest-repping bars, the headliner finally steps up to the mic, amping up the wordplay and alliteration in his memorable closing verse.  DJ Drama Presents Gangsta Grillz: Heir to the Throne is coming soon—stay tuned to the Booth for further details.

Finally! A cory gunz song that isn't a freestyle. I enjoy his freestyles but couldn't think much until I heard a full song. Cory Gunz is pretty good, not my favorite of the new up and comers but he's up there.

I liked the production on here. Willie kicked it off pretty nicely and Cory Gunz held his own. Rotation.

Willie comes hard on this track straight out the gate (been real solid lately)... & Marvo held his own as well & Cory killed it on the back-end & solidify it as Rotation stuff ... BUT i do have a problem wit dis beat, its okay at first, but it gets really repetitive ...

The production gets a little difficult on the ears after a while. Willie The Kid is average..I've heard better from him. Marvo and Cory Gunz were solid..just not feeling this for some reason probably the beat.

OK I'm mad confused - who the hell is Cory Gunz? I've never seen him on TV/interviews or anything, but hear me out. Compare this picture to his Twitter page - they are two different people. Which one is the real Gunz?! Haha.

Anyway, for the song, I was highly impressed. He's starting to branch out from others in his category with tracks like this. The production hits hard and he spit some hotness.

DRE is that you? The beat is clearly influenced by the Doc if not produced by him. Ya'll know I feel The kid Cory is already one of the nicest to ever spit in my opinion, he has yet to catch that track that sends him in to the cosmos thou@h. All three made @ood use of this beat. 3.5

I loved the production on this & all 3 brought it with their lyrics.

It would of been interesting to see were Cory would be if his 'A Milli' verse had stayed on the original.

All three emcees worked this instrumental perfectly. I agree, it sounds like Khalil, but nobody from Cory's camp got back to us about the production credit...

Nobody else uses those sounds, it's Khalil. The melody approach, the production technique, the drums and all. I would put money on the table. If I have an ear, then for producers...Cory does what he always does. Spits like a monster, but it always has more of that "freestyle" feel instead of good structured song for easy listening...I am missing that in his music.

The production is weird. I like the beat but I don't know about the music...really too weird! They all sound good! The music is repetitive, though. Song has a great energy but it bores me after a while

This track is hot right here. Beat is dope, but it does get kinda annoying by the end of the song. Everyone go hard on this. Cory has a sick flow and Willie the kid is on point. 4.5 Banger
