What’s Booth newcomer Cool Nutz’ Affiliation? Well, while the Portland native and Jus Family artist isn’t officially connected with Strange Music, he’s clearly got some powerful friends in their camp. On a freshly-minted single off his latest street album, Nutz recruits label head Tech N9ne and fellow Kansas City repper Krizz Kaliko (both of whom just rocked the stage at the DJBooth’s A3C showcase) to assist him as he emphasizes the importance of rolling with an influential clique—when you’re struggling to survive in the hood, the right allegiance just might save you from a bullet in the back. Bosko provides an ominous, piano-laced beat to back the collaborators’ grimy bars.
