Ever been in a relationship that would have been absolutely perfect, were it not for the fact that you and your significant other can’t be in the same room for more than an hour without being at each other’s throats? SoCal trio Pac Div can relate to those in this seemingly paradoxical situation – on this bonus remix off beatsmith Cook Classics’ just-released pre-album mixtape, Like, Mibbs and BeYoung reminisce about romances that could go from great to awful and back in the flick of an On/Off Switch. Joining the threesome over Cook’s deceptively chill, bass-driven groove is Hard Work (Remix) emcee Dom Kennedy, who explains his stance on commitment (he doesn’t like it) in a melodically-flowed guest verse. Like what you’re hearing? This remix, along with the track’s original beat and a boatload of fresh instrumentals, can be found on Cook Classics’ 2DopeBoyz/LRG/DJBooth-sponsored (Pre)Charged street album, available now for free streaming and download. Fans should also keep it locked for the latest on studio album, Recharged, which has yet to receive a release date.

Sometimes the beat outshines the artist spitting over it. And then there are other times when the rhymes are so good that you forget that a beat was being flowed over. In the case of this remixed version of "On/Off Switch (Cool Out)" neither of these options are in play.

This track exemplifies the growing-rarer-by-the-day moment when both the beat and rhymes compliment one another perfectly. Take a listen and call me crazy.

So simple yet so effective. I must say I wasn't blown away, but I did have a smile on my face the whole time nodding my head, just a feel good ride with dope flows and lines along the way.

Awesome sauce in your ear. The chemistry between production and vocals is flawless, but it's the extremely well arranged chorus that takes this to another level How sick is that bassline by the way?

Agree that neither the beat or the rap outshined the other. I didn't necessarily think it was anything special until I heard it a couple of times and now I'm digging it.
3.5 but rounding up.
And in the infamous words of Frank the tank, "you're crazy...I like you (DJ Z) but you're crazy"
...Sorry couldn't resist

If I'm not mistaken this was also on PacDiv's last mixtape, and I think I remember enjoying it then just like I am now. I love that bass line on the beat, and this is some of the best the new west coast has to offer.

Still, I'm not connecting with is as strongly as some other folks are. If we're trading Frank the Tanks quotes: "Thanks, she's alright."

I like the bassline of the track, sounds like an upright bass, kinda jazzy influence. I think the verses were pretty tight, basically a nice song. I wasn't really wowed, but it was nice to listen too. I'm not sure I would listen to it over and over, but it gets a solid to stars.

Not really liking the beat on this. The hook was nice on this. Pac Div was the nicest on this.

the beats match the rapper. They just belong together. Without this beat this song would be nothing but with it its pretty good.
