Consequence - Whatever U Want (Bad Boy Remix)
Artist: Consequence
Producer: Kanye West
Album: ConsTV
Label: Band Camp Records
Consequence is a man of many titles: rapper, entertainer, Best of the Booth Award winner, but he now add peacemaker to that impressive resume. Apparently not content to simply drop his ill Whatever U Want (Remix), Cons has decided to get his Ghandi on and bring together once sworn enemies Puff Daddy and The Lox for a Whatever U Want (Bad Boy Remix) – or as I like to call it, re-remix. A long and bitter legal battle between The Lox (a.k.a. Styles P, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch) and Mr. Diddy made prospects for a reunion dim, but it turns out all they needed was a dope Kanye beat. Musically, the Bad Boy Remix isn’t particularly remarkable; sure the Lox drop some collectively impressive flows, but for the most part all Diddy does is mumble his way through a couple lines. Still, the track’s good enough that I don’t feel completely crazy asking which is better, the remix, or the re-remix? Either way, anticipation surrounding the release of Consequence’s ConsTV album, due out in early 2010, should only continue to build.

I like how this has a hold on you the whole way through - the attention to detail is great. That electronic tinge has Kanye written all over it.

Who knew you could come SO CLOSE to outdoing a remix that won a Best of the Booth award? Crazy, eh?

im goin to make sure note that Diddy sounded good on his verse here. so...ya Diddy sounded good here. The Lox all sounded good too.
Jus my opinion, but Cons should do another remix w/rappers from another region. maybe Dirty South or Cali. it could be like how all rappers want to freestyle over A Milli and I Wanna Rock. |

Outta the two remixes, the original is slightly better but this record comes close. The Lox flow great over this and though Diddy was kinda wack this was the best he's sounded in a while.

In typical Diddy fashion he could have been completely absent here and I wouldn't have missed him, but I have to give it to The Lox, who really drop some ill flows.
Still, I don't think this is really that close. For my money, the remix is significant better. More than anything I think it shows just how good this production is, you never get tired of it. Well done Kanye. |

I don't it is possible to outdo the first remix to this. Not only did they switch up the beat but the song was just much more suitable and fitting for the artists involved. The last thing I expected was to hear jadakiss on a remix to this song. This could potentially be rotation if it weren't for the other remix that came out months ago.

even though puffy rapped tight back in the day he's now kind of a club rapper type. which is a good mix with lyrical Common type of rapper like Consequence, along with the hard gangsta style of the lox is a perfect balance.. jada and consequence are two of the most underated rappers in the game, although they do get plenty of respect. not as much as deserved.

I think this beat eclipsed the Lox...FTI (failure to improve).

Not an improvement on the OG or the 1st remix with the G.O.O.D. Music crew. I'm with @factorx691, except Consequence no one really stood out.
Still, as @Nathan has already pointed, I guess it's a testament to the strength of the beat, something that's impossible not to like, that even compromised a Diddy guest spot. Rotation fa sho! |

For me, the original remix is better without a doubt. Diddy sounds bad on here to me, but i do admit that the Lox had some good verses. The Kanye production still sounds great too. 3 out of 5.

I've been a fan of the Lox & Diddy for years and this is just not right. This beat is not for the lox.
