Here, Boston heavyweight Statik Selektah serves up a crowd-pleasing, sampled beat driven by chilled-out strings and swanky brass as the emcee expounds upon two of his favorite topics: money and women. OK, those are just about every rapper’s favorite topics, but Cons’ smooth delivery and knack for multi-layered, pop-referential punchlines (“Have a baby by me, baby might not get a mil, but I won’t do you the way Roc-A-Fella did Emile…”) sets SG2M apart from the pack.
