Consequence - Childish Games

Apparently finally finished remixing and re-remixing his smash single Whatever U Want, proud Queens representer Consequence today let loose some brand new material in the form of Childish Games, the first leak off his pre-album mixtape Cons TV: Movies on Demand. Built around some somber production from Mr. Attic, who seamlessly combines a dark bass line, distorted piano line and Biggie vocal sample, Childish Games is the story of a man (Consequence) who finally realizes the things he previously sought after are nothing but juvenile dreams. Cons’ rhymes here are unsurprisingly fresh, but what is surprising is guest artist Asher Roth’s verse, who puts his partying ways aside and instead engages in some unapologetically grown man talk. Could we be witnessing the death of Mr. I Love College? Asher’s lyrical growth aside, this is the kind of track that makes me believe Cons’ new album Cons TV is going to be very dope – but first we’ll be treated to an album appetizer in the form of the Movies on Demand mixtape, due to drop in February.
